Was expecting something really scary, interesting to see the strange set up of the buildings though. Very expensive for what it is. One of the rooms did not activate as we went in so I had to go and find someone - ruined it a bit. We were in a good group going round so we all had a laugh... More

Me and my boyfriend are into stuff like this so spending a day in York we thought we would pop in and have a look inside this haunted house. Well.. I'll admit I'm normally the first to chicken out when anything scary or spooky is likely to happen, so I was pleased there weren't any actors jumping out to scare... More

Considering the name of the attraction, we couldn't not go! As soon as you walk into the first room, the air is frosty. Not sure if that's because the house is over 700 years old & never been touched by central heating, or whether the history just oppresses the atmosphere. Nothing unusual happened on our tour of the house, but... More

I visited the Haunted House last week, while using my York pass, but i still think it was over priced for what it is, not that i expected anything to happen, but i think £5 would be a better price. Next time i will go on a ghost walk instead.

A haunted location, another within York. The cost was £7.50. The member of staff leaves you in a room. You then enter and have an audio played in each room visited. Sadly the audio failed to work near the top and went back down the stairs. Another member of staff asked us to go back up the flight of stairs... More

You are told at reception that this is just an old house..voiceovers give you the history as you enter each room...there are no actors or gimmicks....basically the opposite of York Dungeons First few rooms..nothing much..few tales..that to be honest i wasnt taking a lot of notice of...then ...we came to a room with just a broom in it...i cant recall... After reading some of the reviews on here I wasnt really sure what to expect! Good value at £15 for two though and you probably spend about 30-45 minutes on the tour. You go from room to room listening to the commentary that does it's best to unsettle you but also provides abit of history. Some of the rooms are... More

I loved the history of this old haunted building, so paid to go inside. Once there the over the top audio began and before you had a chance to walk around a room and look at room you were in darkness with loud audio blaring. How are you supposed to listen out for sounds and see or feel anything paranormal... More

Found it a little pricey (£15 for 2) for 1/2 hours entertainment but the man who runs it was really friendly and fun. I'm not a huge believer in ghosts but found the tour extremely creepy. It was very atmospheric and absolutely freeeeezing so wrap up! I did let out a little squeal a couple of times so it's worth... More
