Went to this as part of the York Pass system - very different and very enjoyable. It is closing sometime in August and that is a bit of a shame.

I visited the house with two friends - all three of us have mediumistic abilities. We could feel energies in many parts of the house and one of us "saw" several figures. The seance room was amazing, one of us took photos and in the brief time that the flash was lit before the photo we could see streaks of... More

I entered not because I believed it was haunted but because I was interested in its 700 year history. I enjoyed exploring the first few rooms and imagining life in days gone by. However that all changed in the upstairs attic room. I did not see or hear anything but I suddenly felt like I was going to be sick... More

First of all I would just like to say that although this house doesn't have the flair and feel of The York Dungeon it was still worth while going to see. I was devastated to hear that The Haunted will be closing in a few weeks and it's future is uncertain! I would like to say to the new owners... More

I am a Sceptic but am very open to there being 'something out there' and i accept that people may have experienced things here. the whole thing lasts about 15 - 20 mins and the whole thing consists of walking around an old house listening to an audio of a story of a girl who used to live there. (not... More

Well after being persuaded by my girlfriend to enter here we both have memories to take away from the experience, each room lights up as you enter and has an audio history of goings on and known hauntings and you are supposed to wait for the audio to finish before moving on,don`t do what we did and advance ahead of the... This was recommended to us by friends as my husband and I were in York for a few days we thought we would check it out, what a waste of time, money and energy. Walking round an old tudor house, the scariest part of this attraction was the old rickety stair case that looked like it was about to collapse.... More

Plucked up my courage to visit 35 Stonegate on this visit to York and glad I did. It is a little expensive for what it is but it is interesting place to visit. Some of the rooms are very light and lead to a false sense of security. Once you begin to go higher up in the house it gets... More

You will either love this or hate it. You will either experience something strange or you won't. I did, my husband didn't. Out of the two other people going round at the same time as us, one did and one didn't. The place itself isn't signposted but you will know what it is from the shop front, which initially looked... £7.50 per adult was a lot for something like this. Lovely building and very big. But it had poor directions and we wasn't always sure what room to go in to. We had a good laugh bit it depends who you go with. It's one visit thing and the staff where lovely. Both out tarot cards where true- bit freaky!... More
