Description:

The Ghostwalk was established before 1973 and was an original creation...

The Ghostwalk was established before 1973 and was an original creation believed to be the first in the world. We promise a unique opportunity to discover the hidden magic of our ancient City through the real art of storytelling. Tales are drawn from the immense history of York and are told against a backdrop of haunting beauty. We walk in the very footsteps of those who have passed before.

We booked a private ghost walk as part of our wedding celebrations - something unusual and unique and to show off York where most of our families hadn't visited before. Mark (our guide) arranged to meet us at a time and place convenient to us which was great and was easy to get along with in planning the ghost walk.... More

A fantastic way to spend a cold winters evening. Interesting and thought provoking tales are delivered in a dramatic fashion by a fantastic guide. I would happily take to the streets of York again to hear these ghostly tales.

The guide was very entertaining with his stories. and had a great personal interest. Some of the stories had my body covered in goosebumps and not just from the cold night air. A great tour of the city, in an atmosphere that is a bit different! Well worth the experience! Only 5 pounds too!

My partner and I embarked on this tour not knowing what to expect and not knowing whether we'd chosen the best tour to go on (since there are so many to choose from in York!) But we could not have enjoyed the tour more! The guide was enthusiastic and obviously loved what he did. His stories were captivating, and revealed... More

Leaving from The King's Arms Pub - (the Famous Pub that Floods), which is well worth a visit in itself, this Ghost Walk is great value at only £5 ... the Tour Guide is both entertaining & informative as you tour the darker areas of the city. Even 'the Shambles', a lively shopping area by day takes on a completely... More

It was a cold and very wet November evening but the gent who took you on the walk made it all worth it. Learnt about some of Yorks more dubious characters and how they met their grisly ends. He made it interesting but humorous at the same time. Not only that but you get a tour of the city in... More

Waited in the pouring rain for the walk to start. The guy was enthusiastic and interesting ..all for £5.00..a good way of having a walk and finding out some good ghost stories.

A great evening and for only £5 it was fun and informative. Me and my partner had a great time being told old tales, especially in the gloomy wet weather we had that evening, would suggest to anyone who wanted something different or a spare evening in York.

With York claiming to be the most haunted city. (If your from Derby you know that's not true). I was expecting a little bit more. Don't get me wrong, for the price £5 per adult for just over an hour you can't go wrong. The tour guide was a nice bloke happy to talk to you on the walk round.... More

I live in York but was on this walk with a friend from out of town. We both enjoyed ourselves very much and even I learned something new about York :) The guy giving the walk obviously knew his stuff, although there was an element of ham about him. No problem with that as it takes acting skills to get... More
