This ghost walk was more historical than scary and gave a good overview of some of the sights in York. However having lived here all of my life I felt that I knew most of what was being said and therefore did not get much out of it. I felt the stories needed fleshing out a bit more.

I am hoping this was the right tour we went on - starts 7.30pm at the Shambles - the guy in his 60s was funny engaging and a bit spooky which added to the experience. An absolute must to spice up your night in York. Such a great city.

This is a piece of fun with a guided walk around York which covers some ghost stories. Not frightening for children and gives you a different perspective compared to the picture book of York that you usually see. The guide was informative but above all, a real actor who made the stories very entertaining. This is well worth the fee... More

After persuadingy 17 year old daughter that this would not be creepy but entertaining, was I glad to see Mark Graham, as he introduced himself, looked quite normal although he was dressed all in black and carried a cane. The tour itself was a walk around the city with lots of history thrown into the tales of ghosts, well told... More

Last night my partner and I were in York and decided to do a ghost walk - I'm a bit of a fan, having gone on a different tour every time I'm in York. Our guide was a fantastic story teller, sadly the stories were pretty boring. We didn't hear any first hand experiences from our guide and it seemed... More

Back in the area, staying with my parents. I tagged onto this walk by chance, having time to kill before the next bus... Glad I did! I believe the tour guide was Mark Graham, a Yorkshire man who speaks with a quiet conviction and a wry sense of humour. There were no gimmicks, props or embarrasing bouts of audience participation.... More

I don't think I would have gone on this walk had it not been included in a tour package that I bought. Not really my thing. But it was interesting and I enjoyed walking around York as it was getting dark. Had a nice chat with an interesting couple during the walk as well, so that made it even better.... More

While interesting and fun, this walk could be enlivened with more knowledge of the stories behind the individuals said to haunt these York locations. Just telling the bare bones of a ghost's manifestation, and who it was in life, is not enough to satisfy. Also, the walk should meet at a less crowded place than The King's Arms pub, to... More

Having never been on anything like this before, I wanted to try at least one of the ghost walks while I was staying in York. The tour lasted about an hour and 15 minutes and was a good way to get acquainted with the streets of York. The tales told were interesting and there was often an historical link. I... More

Having only been on one ghost walk in my life and that not being a very good experience I was apprehensive about going on another. This ghost walk, however, was recommended by the tourist information service as it did not have people jumping out at you. This was great and so we bought tickets. The walk was interesting and gave... More
