Having read the reviews on here, it's clear that whether or not you enjoy this tour very much depends on which guide you have. I was part of a group booking and we were expecting Mark Graham to take the tour, but unfortunately we had a different guide, who was truly terrible. He was obviously trying to make his stories... We went on the ghost walk that meet at both ends of the Shambles. The guide was a great character and was dressed the part in black cloak and top hat and carried a large bell which he rang when walking down to us in the Shambles. He also carried a small step ladder so that people at the back... More

This was amazing. The guide was brilliant and had such a vast knowledge of the history of York. Well worth every penny.

We took the Original Ghost Tour on the recommendation of our hotel and loved it! The guide was very knowledgeable, dramatic, good sense of humor, and spooky! We walked the entire old town for about 2 hours, stopping at about 10 places to hear stories of hauntings. It was a blast!

We were told this tour was a good one as it is 'the original' but we found it a bit dry and disappointing. The ghost stories were pretty placid and you didn't go inside any buildings or anything.

Decided on this ghost walk from the reviews and felt it offered an enjoyable insight into some of York's history and 'ghost' stories. The speaker was well informed and enthusiastic, though the group size was a little large for my liking. However, it was a good experience and I would recommend if you have time when in the city.

I was really interested in going on a ghost walk in York, although I am a bit of a scaredy cat! At £5 for adults/£3 students, it was something worth a try. After reading reviews, we tried this one and were NOT disappointed! I was so intrigued by everything Christian was saying, I could have listened to him all night!... More

We choose this because of the promised lack of gimmicks and we're not disappointed. Our guide was a masterful storyteller who's timing and delivery had us all hanging on his every word. Very atmospheric route. Great value for £5

Despite the awful weather, we had a fantastic time. Mark was very knowledgeable and entertaining whilst taking us on a walk around beautiful York. Full of historical facts and without the theatrics of some other ghost walks I have encountered. Great value for money at £5 for adults and £3 for children. Highly recommended.
