Description: The Ghostwalk was established before 1973 and was an original creation...
The Ghostwalk was established before 1973 and was an original creation believed to be the first in the world. We promise a unique opportunity to discover the hidden magic of our ancient City through the real art of storytelling. Tales are drawn from the immense history of York and are told against a backdrop of haunting beauty. We walk in the very footsteps of those who have passed before.

We had a great time on the ghost tour. Tour leader was fabulous, he kept the entire group engaged for the full 1+ hour tour around York. Perfect mix of macabre and humor. He clearly enjoyed his job. We would revommend this to everyone who visits York. It gave us a great overview of the town so we knew where... More

Overall i really enjoyed this walking tour. The narator looked scary with his black gown. His stories were told loud and clear. But i really forgot it was summer time when i visited York. So everywhere was bright. I was hoping to feel spooky but unfortunately i wasn't. So.. Ghost walk and Summer dont match. :(

The guide is funny and witty and he had my attention for the whole hour and 15 minutes. The price is reasonable and £5 per adult and £3 for kids, oaps and students. Very informative and interesting and well worth the money. He tells a good story and is good at what he does. Would of liked to have gone for... More

Very good for £5. Guide can tell a story, act and joke. Don't expect to go in any dungeons etc, this is a street walk lasting about a hour and fifteen to hour thirty.

Recently went on this tour and found it to be interesting and entertaining! The gentleman who took us was excellent at telling the stories of the haunted areas of York and he was very entertaining. Would've been nice if it was a little scarier though! Overall quite good!

Our tour guide, Mark, was the master of story-telling. Very atmospheric (well, as much as it can be in the height of summer when it's not dark!!) and detailed, his tone, pauses and delivery made for the perfect telling of tales dark and mysterious. Also a very friendly and nice guy, made time to talk to everyone on the tour!... More

While the guide was very nice, attentive and had flair, his stories felt flat as though he had gotten tired of telling them. I would not recommend it.

Take this tour if you want to walk along with a group of people on streets of York. When it comes to ghost walk, this is more of story telling session, standing some hundreds of yard away from where the story/actual event happened. This is ghost walk without a 'g' so you can call it host walk. And most importantly,... More

The Original Ghost Walk - not to be confused with the several other ghost walks in York - is one of the best I've been on. Our guide was urbane, letting the stories be the spooky part of the tour. In between tales, he was a master of getting those of us on the tour to chat with each other,... More

Very good tour guide who was very knowledgeable about the history of York and added a great element of fun and humour/sarcasm. enjoyable for adults but my 10 year old daughter found it a bit uninteresting after a while. We did generally think that the walk could have been made a bit spookier and scarier than it was. It takes... More
