Description: The Ghostwalk was established before 1973 and was an original creation...
The Ghostwalk was established before 1973 and was an original creation believed to be the first in the world. We promise a unique opportunity to discover the hidden magic of our ancient City through the real art of storytelling. Tales are drawn from the immense history of York and are told against a backdrop of haunting beauty. We walk in the very footsteps of those who have passed before.

This could well be the best £5 you spend in York!!! Chris our guide for the evening made the whole thing a great event, he gave fun knowledgeable accounts of the sightings bringing old York to life. This is a tour not about people in costumes jumping our trying to make you jump, but giving 'facts' and stories told in... More

We had been on a ghost walk earlier in the evening and it was terrible. A guy with a top hat and doctors bag ringing a bell. He was awfully throwing water over people and mucking about, no real stories so we left to join the original ghost walk . We joined the original ghost walk our guide was a... More

We decided as it was our last night in York to experience one of the ghost tours and as this was the original we decided on this one we met outside the pub that floods and the host for the walk quickly got us into the swing of things with a tale straight away. We weren't expecting much from a... More

What can I say but do the tour. The guide was full of fun and knowledge and clearly enjoys his job. We will do the tour again when we come back to York. Great trip out for kids as well.

Your guide meets you at the head of the street near Duke of York restaurant. For the next hour and a half you will be in stitches. We were told he was the best one of all the Ghost Guides. He certainly will not disappoint.

We had a great time on the ghost tour. Tour leader was fabulous, he kept the entire group engaged for the full 1+ hour tour around York. Perfect mix of macabre and humor. He clearly enjoyed his job. We would revommend this to everyone who visits York. It gave us a great overview of the town so we knew where... More

Overall i really enjoyed this walking tour. The narator looked scary with his black gown. His stories were told loud and clear. But i really forgot it was summer time when i visited York. So everywhere was bright. I was hoping to feel spooky but unfortunately i wasn't. So.. Ghost walk and Summer dont match. :(

The guide is funny and witty and he had my attention for the whole hour and 15 minutes. The price is reasonable and £5 per adult and £3 for kids, oaps and students. Very informative and interesting and well worth the money. He tells a good story and is good at what he does. Would of liked to have gone for... More

Very good for £5. Guide can tell a story, act and joke. Don't expect to go in any dungeons etc, this is a street walk lasting about a hour and fifteen to hour thirty.
