There is lots to see in the museum, you can spend hours there. They have a small coffee shop, and the grounds are are very nice to spend time in.

Set in the lovely surroundings of Pannett Park, the museum is well worth a visit if just to see the great collection of fossils collected from the surrounding area. They also have exhibits on local explorers and a great collection of models of famous ships. There is something for everyone to see and a great little coffee shop in the... More

We loved this place! I can't say we spent hours here but I think it was worth the entry fee. The museum is full of very interesting exhibits that almost seem piled on top of each other! I've been to a lot of museums over the years but most of the things they had on display I hadn't seen the... More

I have visited so many stuffy museums in my time but this is nothing like that at all As you go through the doors, Its like walking into Alladins cave. There is something for everyone to enjoy from huge fossilised dinosaurs to Pelham puppets . It quite rightly celebrates Whitby and it's seafaring heritage but contains so much more. The... More

We really liked Pannett Park and had a walk round before we went into the museum. We only expected to find a very small museum, however we were very impressed by the amount of exhibits held there. The fossils and exhibits which illustrate the geology and 'timeline' of the 'Jurrasic Coast' are brilliant. There is a section given over to... More

For such a relatively small building is a small town the museum is packed with something for everyone. My only regret was not having allowed enough time to browse more slowly and view the many exhibits longer.. Great cafe downstairs as well.

I have had a lifetime of visiting museums and this is one of the best. Fascinating exhibits all dispayed in a way that is interesting whilst also being 'gimmick free'. A real delight. Great cafe too, sellng home-baked treats and free coffee refills.

It had been 32 years since I last visited the museum and I was pleased to see that it had not only survived but grown and expanded. The variety of things on show , given that it is a modest size museum is a credit to the people that run it . The fossils on show are really amazing and... More

Wonderful objects in glass cases! Especially the model ship displays, and the Victorian jet jewellery, and the hand of glory, and the old photographs, and the Bram Stoker connection.... There's always something new to look at.
