a relaxing get away with a book

A great place to hide away from the busier side of Whitby. Splendid gardens and plenty of seating. You could sit here all day unless you have a restaurant booking to get back for.

Mr. Panett definitely had foresight and thanks to him; Whitby has an absolutely wonderful park within the town centre. Also contains the local museum and art gallery, but the park is extensive and has some very old trees and stunning vistas !!

It's a beautiful walk through the well maintained park with many varieties of flowers, trees, and cute areas. The kids playground is the best I've ever seen.

What a delightful oasis this is. It is extremely well laid out and the people who maintain it deserve a medal for their immaculate stewardship of this wonderful amenity in the middle of Whitby. I'm sure in our great grandparent's time most parks were as well tended as Pannetts but in our austere times this is one of the nicest... More

I visited here on 26th April 2013 - luckily the weather was good - I loved the pretty Italianate Gardens. I was disappointed I didn't have more time to spend here. One gentleman I spoke to complained that there was a £5 charge for the museum in the park? I didn't get as far as the museum so don't know... More

The flower displays are lovely. The jurassic garden is very interesting and informative. The museum and art gallery are within the park and a nice children's play area. Although the park is not that big it is attractive and has some nice trees.

This was the best community park I have come across. With its nautical theme the attention to detail is wonderful. Our toddler loved interacting with the equipment. There was plenty of equipment for the older children too.

Just back from a family holiday in Whitby. We took our 2 1/2yrs old grandson here several times. Plenty for him to do and benches for us old people. Lovely views over Whitby and next to Whitby museum.

Away from all the hustle and bustle of the typical seaside promenade's, harbour and arcades is the quite, clean and well kept Pannett's park. Well worth spending a little time having a gentle stroll around. Nice flower beds, lawns and water feature make this a pleasant escape for an hour or so of your time. Beware that the park is...
