I think my title says it all - this is a lovely park for a stroll, with some beautiful flowers even in February, and a brilliant playground where my children would have stayed for hours if they could. Not far out of town and worth a visit - I'd imagine it would be a lovely place to spend a family... More

Very nice tranquil and scenic park to walk through or sit and relax on one of the benches.Just on out-skirt of Whitby town ctre. Seemed slightly elevated so it had good aerial views of the harbour and surrounding area.

We were in Whitby two nights near the park so each morning we walked through the park and was truly delightful, beautiful and informative. It was so nice to get away from the cars and buses. The museum is within the park and although not visited the reviews indicate that it is worth a visit. Nice gentle walk to the... More

Many visitors to Whitby would probably miss out completely on this lovely park which is tucked away just off the beaten track. It's worth seeking out, for a stroll or if you have kids there is a great park. The daffs and some beautiful mini Iris were out when we visited in late February. It was ajoy to walk around... More

Some lovely plants and displays - and the museum of course. great kids' play area. Some of the slopes are a bit steep - they might consider levelling it all out :-}

We visited this park after seeing other reviews on trip advisor and were very impressed. The park was clean with plenty of seating and beautiful views over Whitby. The children's play area is definitely a must if you have little ones and we'll be bringing ours with us next time.

The museum has got it all! Great gallery on local artists paintings from Whitby, Staithes etc . Museum is a real mixed bag of great stuff, from local fossils and carved jet to items collected around the world by travellers. Love the diarama in giant light house bulbs! How did he do it,these could do with being lit better as... More

Considering the size of the town, Whitby is lucky to have such a lovely facility. Although local government cuts have resulted in significant reductions in park maintenance, Scarborough BC have managed to keep Plannett Park in excellent condition. The keen gardener will happily spend a couple of hours appreciating the wide range of plants. The Museum is also situated in... More

I first went to this park when I was 10. I remember all the new, modern and colourful equipment which was in the playground. this park is great for people to go for a walk and take their dogs out for a run. however the park is on a hill so it is not suitable for some elderly people.
