Peaceful oasis housing museum and art gallery

Lots of different themes and a focus on eco system. Lots of steps and inclines but worth the effort if you are able.

Take a half hour out of your hectic day to wander around the park and you'll undoubtedly feel better for it! Beautifully landscaped with paths and benches allowing easy access to view the various magnificent displays, you can survey the entire town all the way across to the Abbey, or get lost in the quiet of the winding paths among... A park with the love of the community written all over it, from the flower clock to the South Seas garden. Beautiful views, an inspired introduction to geology and paleontology in the Jurassic Garden, and the Whitby Museum, this park is a credit to the community and not to be missed. Did I mention the Jurassic Garden? Amazing!

We stumbled upon this super park - it is beautiful, peaceful, has a Jurassic trail that has been very well thought out, to include plants and trees that were alive in the Jurassic era. wood carvings, a smart pond teeming with life and the best childrens play area I have ever visited. We were only walking through but spent about... More

Great way to spend an hour or two, whatever the weather, lovely autumn walk. The art gallery is free, the museum has an entrance fee of £5pp, we didn't see that attraction.

Some of the exihibits have not changed and are perennial favourites like the fossils and the stuffed birds. A great place for children who are studying about fossils at school . For the ladies who embroider there is a lovely display of samplers and some of which you can buy the patterns at the main desk. We go back to... More

Nicely landscaped with very good planting - autumn crocuses and cyclamen out now. Great views over Whitby and cute squirrels then visit the great museum in the middle of this park.

I loved this pretty park, it has something for everyone and is an educational experience too. There are lots of different areas and information boards telling you about the sections. The groundstaff at the park are particularly helpful with pointing out photo points.
