A great visitor attraction, and worth the walk up the steps to soak up the history of Whitby, though a reverential wander round the grave yard. Spoilt only at Easter and Halloween by some unthinking photographers and some thoughtless costumed visitors not following the sign posted advice of the church not to pose on the grave stones. Annoyingly, this seems... More

An interesting old church rather spooky than quaint especially still having the old style box pews.I can image it being used in in an old Gothic style Vincent Price movie. A very poignant reminder of the horrors of war with the Whitby roll of honour from the Great War to present day. Also honours Whitby's ties to the seas. Worth a... More

Read Bram Stoker's epic tale ready for our Whitby visit and could really feel what stoked his vivid imagination as we wandered around the old tomb stones. The church inside seems little altered over the last couple of hundred years.

If you are up at Whitby Abbey do not walk past this place without taking a look inside. Not very often you will see the inside of a church like is.

This church is situated near the Abbey and overlooks the town. The interior is full of ancient family pews. A previous landlord made many changes to the interior this restricts a clear view of the church.

No matter how many times we go to this church we always find something we have missed on a previous visit! Nothing to dislike!

This brilliant, miss mash of a church with Georgian windows all down its sides was well worth the 199 step climb up to it! It also offers magnificent views if the harbour and town below.

A beautiful church that is tourist friendly with spectacular views over the harbour when you want to rest your weary bones after climbing the 199 steps.

Many original features, very interesting, well worth a visit after you have climbed the steps. We enjoyed reading the many memorial plaques. The old heater was fascinating.
