*** AVOID THIS PLACE *** I visited this experience due to my gf wanting to handle birds. We had visited the area from Surrey, and read reviews which I thought this place seemed good. The birds themselves are lovely and the two handlers seemed nice. However the owner/reception lady provided absolute shocking service. We had booked an experience for 45... More

Stopped en route to Cumbria from Yorkshire. Brilliant few hours travel break, very friendly staff, excellent selection of birds with a comedy routine, so different from other places we'd been. Very passionate and knowledgable staff. Will definitely return and recommend. Small cafe to and an outside play area. Play area suited more for young children than toddlers. Lovely setting and... Bought as a gift for my partner and didn't expect a lot - just wanted a different day out. What we got was an absolutely brilliant day! Even though it was spitting with rain, cold and grey (and I am not an outdoors person by nature) I really really enjoyed myself. We drove from Wakefield and went past a few... More

Was dubious as we arrived as it seemed quite small, but we ended up spending all afternoon there watching displays and talking to the really friendly staff. It was obvious how much they enjoyed their work and loved the birds (and the birds loved them!). Nice little coffee shop with sandwiches, soup and cakes. Well worth a visit if you... More

It was a wet day ("dreich") for Scots readers, but not too wet for the birds to be flown. At 12 noon, We saw a Bateleur eagle and then a buzzard fly and actually had the letter land on our (gloved) hands. The bird handlers were informative, funny and clearly devoted to their birds. After a comic performance from an... More

We visited the centre for a full day course as a birthday treat for me. Arrived early, place looked deserted and didn't see anyone until gone 10.00am. Once inside we met the 2 staff who were going to be looking after us for the day and they were brilliant, had a good chat with them and they were very friendly.... More

Booked this for my husbands birthday, telling the person we booked with that we were renting a cottage in the area and giving her a mobile number as well as our home landline in case they needed to contact us. Of course they didn't ring the mobile, so we didn't know the course was cancelled until we turned up, leaving... More

My husband and I attended the 2pm display which was both interesting and informative. It was lovely to be so close to the different birds and the display was very entertaining. We went back to the same location for the 3:30pm display and waited for it to begin. Nobody told us that we were waiting in the wrong place before... More

We visited and enjoyed the visit. The young man doing the display had a real rapport with the birds - first he flew Wesley the vulture, a mean-looking creature with a six-foot wing span! it was both fascinating and frightening to watch him. Next was Woody a lovely little owl and then Barney a beautiful barn-owl. The birds were obviously... More
