Big enough for a good evening

Clearly a well loved locals establishment, has a great collage on the ceiling of the bar of the whole of london. Nicely graduated stage. Went for a comedy visit. Good acoustics.

The programming at the Playhouse rivals any of Londons theatres of a similar size. It attracts the best comedy performers on their national tours, a chance to see some very big names in an intimate theatre. The bar is always vibrant thanks to its young crowd from the arts school round the corner and is a great place to go... More

Very impressed. Lovely cosy theatre (although could of done with a bit more leg room but that can't be helped!) Went to see a stand up comedian (tommy tiernan) very funny! Reasonably priced tickets & bar was value for money too! Friendly staff & people. Hope to come back soon!

Always love coming here. Very quirky and fun and nice staff. Drink prices are very good. Shame you can't take them into the theatre, but understand the reasons for why not. Only lost a star as the seating is a bit anti social inside. Lots of different closed off sort of areas which if your a big group can need... More

The Norwich Playhouse is a small venue that is ideal for cosy theatrical productions. The acoustics and lighting are good, the seating is comfortable, and there is a nice pedestrian area before the entrance for socialising on summer evenings. There is ample car parking at the St Andrews Car Park nearby. (Entrance on Duke Street)

Friendly staff and interesting beer. The bar is not for a 36 something mid week. Definitely a student reserve. That said, very chilled out atmosphere with interesting decor.

Been to this theatre on quite a few occasions. Nice cosy atmosphere, and a lovely bar to have pre show drinks. Always busy and tickets are a reasonable price. Lovely old building and comfy seats.

As a regular audience member and an annually a performer at this venue, I whole heartedly can recommend and vouch for this theatre. This 400 seat auditorium is situated in an old building that used to be a malting so that has been renovated to be a modern purpose built theatre equipped with state of the art equipment. There is... After a lovely lunch at the Last Wine Bar we ventured into a sunlit outside bar at The Playhouse. Very busy and very 'studenty' but equally friendly with a wide choice of drinks (ours went from g'n't, through wine and beers and a coffee). Not on the usual bar/pub circuit but well worth a visit.
