The City seem to miss an opportunity here, as access to the more interesting parts is very limited. The façade is covered in knapped flint work which must have taken man years to complete with only hand tools available at that time. The café provides some tasty snacks and excellent hot chocolate. I was lucky enough to get to see... More

Three friends decided to have a trip round the Guildhall and listen to the informative guide. It was £5 well spent as we heard facts we had not heard before and looked in rooms we had not seen before and learnt about the gaol and justice of Norwich. The downstairs cells remain must as the wardens left them! We were... More

My wife and myself wanted to try somewhere different. So we decided to try the guildhall cafe. It is an amazing old building with a nice relaxed atmosphere. The service was good, and the waitresses were very nice and helpful. There is a nice choice of light bites, such as sandwiches, rolls, Panini's jacket potatoes. Then there is the delicious... More

Unfortunately the hall was closed when we arrived altho' the video about the place in the hallway was quite interesting. We sat in the café for quite a while without anyone serving us, so left without sampling the menu. Comments bout the toilets from others in the café helped us on our way.

The tour was an hour long and went into the history of Norwich prisons and court rooms. The guide had lots of information and seemed to enjoy his job. Overall I enjoyed the tour, but money needs to be spent to clean and look after the dungeon.

After our small wedding ceremony, we took our guest for a light lunch to the Guildhall café, to bridge between the ceremony and the dinner venue. The service was excellent! We went there a week before to know if it would be feasible to take a party of 15, on a week day, at lunch time, which they OK but... More

While my husband and I were looking for something a little different to enjoy for Valentines night, an evening without kids hooray, we came across another show by the Norfolk Troupe, Strange Fascination. Having been to a previous show of theirs in Gt Yarmouth, see previous review, we jumped at the chance to see them again. This time it was... More

Brilliant evening had on 14th Feb at The Guildhall for the Murder Mystery production by Immersive Theatre group Strange Fascination. The actors, along with the story, were excellent and full use was made of all the rooms (very interesting to see the undercroft and council chamber. Could be used for some very interesting productions in the future). Interacting with the... More

The exterior of the Guildhall is beautiful and in a great condition but that's where it stops. Having ventured inside we were very disappointed as the interior is taken up by a cafe/restaurant. Not really worth a special visit.

A bit of a let down and a missed opportunity. A very old and special building and from the exterior brilliant. I stepped inside expecting a sort of museum with information about its history. I was stunned to find it was a coffee shop serving probably very nice lunches and cakes. Very disappointed and a bit perplexed. There are upteen... More
