While my husband and I were looking for something a little different to enjoy for Valentines night, an evening without kids hooray, we came across another show by the Norfolk Troupe, Strange Fascination. Having been to a previous show of theirs in Gt Yarmouth, see previous review, we jumped at the chance to see them again. This time it was... More

Brilliant evening had on 14th Feb at The Guildhall for the Murder Mystery production by Immersive Theatre group Strange Fascination. The actors, along with the story, were excellent and full use was made of all the rooms (very interesting to see the undercroft and council chamber. Could be used for some very interesting productions in the future). Interacting with the... More

The exterior of the Guildhall is beautiful and in a great condition but that's where it stops. Having ventured inside we were very disappointed as the interior is taken up by a cafe/restaurant. Not really worth a special visit.

A bit of a let down and a missed opportunity. A very old and special building and from the exterior brilliant. I stepped inside expecting a sort of museum with information about its history. I was stunned to find it was a coffee shop serving probably very nice lunches and cakes. Very disappointed and a bit perplexed. There are upteen... More

We stumbled upon Caleys Coffee shop in the Guildhall while looking for somewhere else. We had early morning coffee there and so impressed returned later in the day for tea and cake. Staff are lovely and chatty, good coffee and wonderful cheese scones. Interesting location with a lovely atmosphere which makes a change from coffee in the usual chain cafes.... More

The café in the guildhall is excellent. A chance to have tea in a Victorian court with a lot of the original furniture. The chocolate treats are great, the staff friendly. I suspect the locals want to keep this one to themselves.

If you like historical buildings then add this to your list when visiting Norwich. Depending on the time of day for your visit you can also enjoy morning coffee, a light lunch or afternoon tea here served to you by a freindly staff.

Just walking round the outside you get a wonderful sense of history and when you walk inside it takes you right back in time.

Stumbled upon this place by accident, trying to get out of the cold! The tearoom is in the main body of the Guildhall and it is a very pleasant environment. My daughter and I each had a jacket potato and they were excellent - delicious and very filling. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the surroundings were very... More
