Approaching from Tombland, along Wensum St.and over the bridge you will be on Magdalen St. You will see a large Oxfam store on the left, and the huge antiques store Looses on your right. This is on two floors and is crammed with antiques and other items such as books, DVDs, furniture, indeed almost everything. There are also several charity... More

We had to come here to Magdalen Street as we are collectaholics and we like to trundle around antique/collectors shops, and the odd charity shop. There are 2 big(ish) centres (looses and alladin's cave) and various other shops inc a clock shop (my speciality) with a large Oxfam charity shop. Plenty to see and buy if you can find the... More

We always go to the glasshouse most Friday nights for a couple of wines and food. Nice atmosphere friendly staff and excellent value for money.

this street carries so many different cultures, always lively, people passing through always appear cheerful and smiling. This road has kept most of it's heritage and feels alive at any time of day.

I like picking up second-hand furniture and bits at a good price so I always head there. It used to be the heart of Norwich shopping before the Castle Mall centre was built. This is the place to pick up ingredients for your asian cooking as well. Not as pretty as other Norwich places but the shops are fine and staff are pleasant.

Yes, it is run down. No, I don't fancy it late on Saturday night. Maybe, there are one or two pubs I might use - like the Lawyer or the Glasshouse. BUT!!! The ethnic shops can transport you to the Indian sub-continent, the Caribbean, South-East Asia, Africa ... all the places where food and ingredients are exotic. The antique shops... More

Went there today and was blown away by the sheer size of some of the second hand shops there, the area is a little shabby but that's to be expected. Vintage, antique and just second hand, it's all there.

For me, Magdalen Street is a must-see street in Norwich. There is nowhere else in the area that's got quite such an incredible mixture of cultures, independent and chain shops within comfortable walking distance. There are loads of bus stops on the road making it very accessible, as well as having two car parks very near by. It's also only... More

you can find pretty much anything on Magdalen Street there are lots of eclectic shops including Loose's, a Norwich favourite which has a mixture of furniture, clothes and odd bits and bobs- great for looking around even if you don't want to buy, but if you do make sure you haggle as prices can start a bit high! there is... This is the most and only eclectic shopping district in Norwich. Everything from spices to settees. A lovely cafe or 2. All just 5 minutes wall from tee city centre.
