In Time Out magazine, it does say "The prices are a bit steep". Wow, that is some understatement. This place is so overpriced the dealers bordered on greedy. I questioned one stall holder as to why she felt that something was worth what she wanted for it, in the full knowledge of what I was looking at. Her reply, (after... More

Alfies is wonderful collection of dealer stores - a massive range of antique and vintage items from glassware to clothes, lighting to jewelry. The Roof Top Restaurant is a good half way stop if you need some sustenance. Somewhat nerve wracking with kids in certain parts, but dealers all pleasantly relaxed and engaging.

I was actually in search of cake, which I was assured I could find somewhere within the bowels of this vast emporium, but boy was I in for a treat because this place comprised of four floors, all crammed with antiques, vintage bits n bobs, and retro gubbins. The cake was going to have to wait a while I fear!... More

I was sorely disappointed advert implies they stock a lot of vintage clothes but infact it was more furniture based . Due to it being made up of separately rented units it was all a bit of a shambles to see much at all it was a Saturday and maybe it was because it was difficult to navigate but hardly... More

Overall: 4 Other comments: several tens of booths located on a number of floors and in between, and with a rooftop kitchen on the top, with a nice terrace. Lots a different topics such as clocks, jewelry, toys, lamps etc etc. Prices seemed to be in high collector end, but that's predictable. Not a lot of people here on a... More

A great way to see an array of wares in one place and under a roof unlike the markets. Opening at 10 this market just off Edgware road is a treasure trove of individual shops. Beware the London prices but you will find a great choice. Make sure you go to the top floor where there are small shops selling... More

Its beautiful1930s Art Nouveau facade alone makes this shop worth visiting. Vendors in Alfies Antiques sell a beautiful range of antiques and even if you don't find anything you like inside there are plenty of other vintage shops in the vicinity. For me unusual shops worth visiting in London read my blog about London's most unusual storefronts: http://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/eilidh-wagstaff/london-architecture_b_6399798.html

As a collector I'd been meaning to visit Alfie's for years. I finally managed it this week and I can't wait to go again. As with any antiques market, the place is divided into a myriad little stalls selling everything from vintage jewellety to extravagant ceiling lights. This is a famous must-go to place in the middle of London so... More

There is a thin line between antiques, old tat, cheap copies and ghastly objects. Under this room you need time, expertise and broad knowledge in order not to get disappointed with your purchase. The prices are stiff. So stick to your haggling and limits!!!
