Oh, how I've missed you. Long gone from the U.S., I make a point of visiting HMV whenever I come across one in Europe. While they can be overpriced, I fondly remember lunchtime visits to their 5th Avenue shop in NYC, where they'd often have concerts scheduled & I'd see bands like The Chieftains or The Wolfe Tones play free... Went in to get a refund on a pair of headphones and was greeted with the worst customer service experience ever!! He asked the manager to come out and explain why I could not get a refund and the first thing she said was "what's the problem??!" Never in my life experience such service!! Staff lazy and could not be... More

This retail giant that once was has not only been virtually wiped out but the staff one in particular who I had the unfortunate mistake of ascertaining some assistance could not even show any inclination to help me. Arrogant lazy utterly poor customer service experienced and despite apologies for unacceptable behaviour from head office I feel nothing s been done... More

I was just finishing my fresh glass off newly squeezed orange juice(I squeeze the oranges myself using only my hands directly into a coffee mug) when I thought, "hey, you know what. I'm gonna head to hmv and buy myself a box set" so me and my eleven illegitimate children frollocked our way to hmv. What did we find inside?... More

After hearing of the difficulties of the high-street music retailer and the woes faced in the battle against online competitors, it was excellent to see HMV back in their rightful place at their original Oxford Street branch, opened in 1921. Smaller than their previous store, this place was still absolutely buzzing with people on one of the last shopping days... More

HMV is my favourite musicstore! I love the wide choice of Music and DVDs. I bought here some seasons of my favourite TV Series "Prince of Bel Air" in its original language and other good movies.

Staying in Marylebone

Neighborhood Profile
Marylebone offers what so many London neighborhoods cannot: a village feel coupled with urban convenience. Much of its success rests in its location. Wedged between the northeastern corner of Hyde Park and the southern end of Regent's Park and with a number of Tube stations within easy reach, Marylebone is as pedestrian friendly as Central London gets. The bustling shopping mecca of Oxford Street separates it from Soho and Mayfair, exclusive Regent Street marks its border with Fitzrovia, and cosmopolitan Edgware Road serves as its western edge. Within this enviably situated quarter are an array of outstanding restaurants (from Michelin darlings to down and dirty cheeseburgers), an impressive assortment of independently owned shops, and some of the city's quietest and most pleasant nooks, crannies and cobbled lanes.
