I've been to countless gigs at Brixton Academy over the last decade and maybe it's just my age but I don't like it anymore. Standing is always overcrowded now and you can't see the acts. long waits at the dated overpriced bars, for a plastic pint. dirty toilets with equally long waits. It's got to the point now that when... More

Felt harassed and bullied by security staff, overcrowded, how this can be passed as fire safe I do no know. Inconsistent safety rules applied( or not) , very nasty staff, an accident waiting to happen, dirty, dingy, squalid, don't waste you time or money

Just got back from seeing Gerard Way at Brixton. The staff/security are rude and sent us to three different queues, when inside on balcony, we were only told that we couldn't stand up, and the steward was very rude my friend. Because we couldn't stand and dance we were bloody freezing! The loos were swimming in water, and stunk of... More

First visit here, venue looks very tired but also strangely beautiful. Toilets and bar queues were awful. Bar prices not great either. Overall however it was a great night and the staff were good.

The worst venue I've ever been to. An hour to cue for the toilet another hour to get to the bar. Filthy through and through. AMP was rubbish too (Annie Mac ) - DJs playing for themselves instead of the vibe.

This is our fifth time at this venue , always enjoyed it , however this time it was oversold . Far to May people for it to be comfortable . Getting a drink was a nightmare , the toilets were discusting , overflowing and stank. Enjoyed the gig but had no room to move which has never been the case... More

Wouldn't bother. At event peak 45 min queue for mens toilet. They were overflowing badly..... Over an hour to get a bar drink. Bad setup, sound quality is terrible. I mean really terrible. Not worth it compared to new venues..... Especially considering you are lucky to get away without bring mugged..... AVOID.

Saw Kasabian here, my first time at Brixton Academy. I wouldn't normally bother writing about venues but I was pretty impressed with this one. The sound quality was excellent; it manages to be a big enough venue yet feel intimate at the same time. The sloped seating and floors helps those of us who are 'vertically challenged' to see the... I have been to Brixton three times now to see metal/rock bands and I can tell you that I will never go to this venue again. The sound is truly terrible, all you can hear is the booming of the bass drum and the high end of the vocals, everything else is lost in a wash of noise and it... More

One of the best venues in London for live music. However, bar prices are high compared to pubs. I can highly recommend.
