Been coming to this place only cause Top DJs do play here. Venue and music is great, place is spacious. The staff are rude especially the security, they treat people like rubbish. Never again avoid to save disappointment. Vinhc

The staff here seem to revel in making visitors feel uncomfortable, from our first to last minute there. Initially the door man scanned both our tickets, after he handed our tickets back to us an getting distracted said we hadn't given him our tickets! After we laughed I decided to just walk past him. At this point he got aggressive,... More

I visited this venue last night for the Jurassic 5/Dilated Peoples concert and such was myself and friend impressed with the staff, that I felt a needed to put a thank you to them in writing! From the onset of entering the venue - the young man on the door checking the tickets and the ladies and gentlemen of the... More

If you are an O2 customer you can get priority tickets and they have a queue jump service if you show the O2 symbol on your phone... We saw Korn here and the queue went all the way around the building so it makes you wonder if getting the cheapest pay as you go phone available is worth having, to... More

Went here to see Korn. The queue stretched right round the academy so the back of the queue was near the entrance. Security were good with the bag checks but they should have had more toilets. The floor is sloped so you can see the band from the back of the room. Security were a bit rude at the end... More

I visited in for the first time in about 29 years. We hit there early and lined up facing towards the front if the doors we were then told by a security guard that we had to turn round and join a queue that was going away from the door. He didn't check any tickets, didn't explain why they were... More

This is a great iconic venue. But it seems that the sound mixers only care about the main act, so if you're interested in listening to the support acts don't expect good sound quality. The biggest disappoint is the beer. £5 for a pint of watered down lager. Absolute rip off.

Hello to everyone and to everyone@Trip. Attended a concert at the academy yesterday. It is now called O2 Academy Brixton. Not Carling. The event was very very good. Super sound quality. The venue is a 10 minute walk from Brixton tube station. There will be a few rude security guys.....Oh never mind..!! You are there to enjoy. I was at... More

The title summarizes the type of experience you have at this venue. At the Brixton Academy, where I went a few times to see some of my favorite artists, I had by far the worst experience at any music venue in London: - It starts with a long queue on the pavement around the building, slowly moving, because... - ...... The best thing about the Brixton Academy, aside from the stellar line up they always get, is the sloping floor! No longer need you have your view blocked by the tallest bloke in the room standing directly in front of you...Even if they do, you can see over them! Amazing!
