Rated very good for the venue itself: offers great views of the stage from most areas of the floor. We were stood near enough at the back but still enjoyed a great view and sound of the band, as did many people ahead of us. A number of bars are set up but poorly located and queuing was a bit... Shame about the ques to get in system. They call every one on O2 but don't check. But good sound system and great performance.

I went to see Gerard Way back in January and it was the most amazing night of my life, it was my first visit to Brixton and I didn't want to leave. The venue is small enough that it's intimate but big enough to hold everyone. With a performer like Gerard Way I felt like the audience were all one... More

UB40 tickets booked for ages, we arrived in Brixton and to the venue, to be greeted by very friendly staff, who chatted and even recommended which door to go into to get the best view. The building itself is beautiful and more stunning than you would imagine. UB40 were amazing they made it the evening of all evenings, and I... More

Tin-pot Hitlers start your evening by funnelling you past sniffer dogs. They remove you gum and will treat you as a common criminal. The acadey must have had many problems, the restrictions are ridiculous. One pet hate of mine is whe the bar Staff remove your bottle top and refuse to give it too you. Why? Will so someone throw... The academy is not situated in great location, with little in the way of places to eat or drink in the vicinity. The venue itself isn't the cleanest and is distinctly shabby in appearance. However, that said, the acoustics and view were amazing...so all was not lost

Saw Sam Smith on Thursday and although he was amazing, the venue was far from it. Staff seemed to be disorganised and the bar was a complete joke and incredibly expensive, £2.65 for a small bottle of water! The standing in the stalls was totally overcrowded and totally ruined it for me. Constantly pushed by drunk people, who had been... More

Went to see Sam Smith on Thursday. at this venue. This review reflects the venue and not his performance which was excellent throughout!!!! Decided, unwisely to stand at the right hand side near the wall because we are both short and thought it was less likely that taller people would crowd us out! Also having an ex husband as a... Went there last night to see Sam Smith live - he was amazing, but the venue is the worst I have ever been to. The ladies toilets were awful, no locks on many of the doors. The standing stalls, were very overcrowded - felt like standing on a tube train during rush hour. But the main problem was that the... More
