I saw kingsmen here. My first IMAX film. The seats weren't the most comfortable but it was reasonably priced and worth the money. The costa staff were very friendly although the costa could do with being a bit bigger for the size of the cinema. All in all a great experience

Love the BFI IMAX. It's the original and best IMAX experience in the UK. The price is reasonable considering the high quality presentations and comfortable seating. Toilets always very clean and the costa coffee and bar are good options of places to catch up or do work before a screening. Always had a good experience here. Price of tickets usually... More

This was the first time we have ever been in this Cinema. We have passed by it several times on our way to Waterloo Station. I remember years ago the walk ways used to be home to the homeless. Yesterday we went to see Kingsman and the sound and picture quality was fantastic. The screen is massive too. We had... More

Great experience - film wasn't my favourite but great entertainment. We don't get the IMAX experience in the provinces!

Title says it all, tickets aren't cheap but compared to other London cinemas you at least get something for your hard earned dosh. Book at least 3-4 weeks in advance if you want to sit anywhere other than the front or far sides. Excellent pre-show waiting areas with drinks and snacks. But please, please, get some decent butter popcorn. This... More

Easy access from Waterloo mainline, tubes & buses. Nice food lounge with Costa Coffee & Yog with an Odeon food concession upstairs with all the usual Cinema favourites and plenty of seating too so you turn up a little in advance and relax. The screen is indeed huge and clear which will make many films amazing to watch, such as... More

The BFI iMax is incredible, so big! It's a must see for film lovers everywhere. There's only one downside for me which is the seats in the cinema.. They are horrible! So uncomfortable and close together so cramped in! Also, if you are going to go you have to book so early! I booked 3 weeks in advance and still... More

Strangely ill equipped for the audience of 500. Half hour queue at the coffee shop and outrageous prices at the concessions. The screen is amazing and provides a unique experience, but 3D can be a little fuzzy if you are to the sides. Sound was impressive and very loud. Try to choose an eye level seat near the middle if... Visited to watch Interstellar and it was excellent. The show was introduced with some do's and don'ts but in a very pleasant manner. We went without booking and got aisle seats on the far right but the viewing experience was not harmed in any way. We enjoyed the whole experience and will visit again! Highly recommended!!

Staying in Southbank

Neighborhood Profile
Southbank
Big time attractions such as the London Eye and a thriving theatre scene (compliments of the National Theatre and the Young Vic) are but a few of the reasons that Southbank is such a collectively cherished part of town. With plenty of family friendly activities and venues lined up along a pedestrianized river bank between Westminster Bridge and Waterloo Bridge, visitors can always expect a casual and festive atmosphere. On top of all the fun stuff to do at Southbank is the opportunity to simply sit back and admire photo-op views of iconic landmarks like Parliament and St Paul's Cathedral, just on across the Thames.
