Read about this in the newspape ra few years back and it sounded like (morbid) fun. Apparently, there are usually about 50 people on the tour. Well everyone must have read the paper that week because the night I went, over 200 people showed up. That had to call in more guides and split off into groups. Very interesting, educational... A fun interesting way to spend an evening in London. Surprising number of English people on the tour. They actually seemed to enjoy it the most. Take the tour with Donald R. He is considered an expert and the info he imparts is very informative and reliable. This is an extremely good deal when you consider the high cost of... More

Deliberately selected a Sunday evening walk guided by Don Rumbelow as I had enjoyed reading his book on the case several years earlier. The major problem was simply the volume of attendees. I counted ninety which made it very difficult to establish any sort of rapport. The sheer logistics of that many people cost extra time at each stop and... More

This walk was awesome, education, and compelling. We walked around and heard the gruesome details and mystery of the Jack the Ripper case, and the tour guides were fun, knowledgable, and very entertaining.

Our guide, Rex, gave us an excellent more than 2.5 hrs tour of the Tower Hill/Aldgate/Spitalfields are, pointing out to some Ripper murder sites but, more importantly, showing us how life in London must have been in the late 1800s. He focused on the victims, their unfortunate lives and the general socio-economic context, which made the tour more than just... More

We look the Jack the Ripper walking tour with Donald Rumbelow last week. He is extremely knowledgeable. He had written a book on the subject. He was very courteous to the entire large group. He made sure folks with issues: walking, & hearing were front and center for each stop. He spoke loud, clear and we never had a problem... More

We selected this tour primarily because of the guide, Donald Rumbelow. He is an expert on the topic for certain. The tour was interesting and included several tidbits of information about Jack the Ripper. Two things kept the tour from being Very Good. First, it was a very large group that night, maybe 70 people. Second, Mr. Rumbelow on multiple... More

Our guide Steve did a great job with our group. He's a good storyteller that made it an interesting walk. It's not really a 'sightseeing' tour but it is kind of fun to walk around the dark streets with someone evoking images of London in the 1880s. Be forewarned, the tour ends and you are directed to the nearest tube... More

I'd wanted to do a Jack the Ripper tour for a while and this one sounded the best. It was good but I wouldn't go out of my way to recommend it. Of course, so much of East London was destroyed during the war that most of the street layouts have changed, plus buildings and locations have of course been... More
