It is primarily a good photo op. If you buy the day pass on the Original Bus Tour (hop on hop off), it is included. Only goes from Westminster to the Tower Bridge. You can take good pictures from either side of the river without being on the river but it is a good opportunity to rest your legs.

Why? Well because you are so tired from walking it was so enjoyable to just ride along for the full tour without getting off. That's if you can wait that long. Also, your ticket is good for 24hrs so if your London Pass has expired you can at least ride the River Thames. Lots of history along the banks, listen... More

We took a short trip on Saturday with the kids. We thoroughly enjoyed the cruise and the crew member who did the commentary was very amusing. Learnt a few interesting facts that we didn't know before and the kids loved it. 2 teenagers and a tweenager. Not often we like the same things.

This was a great way to get to Greenwich and learn a little of the history of London and the docks. Most of the docks have been converted to Condos. The commentary of the 1 hour cruise gave a lot of detail about the areas that we passed through. We passed the Tower of London, Westminster and HMS Belfast. It... More

First, I highly recommend City Cruises as a part of the London a Pass. You can hop on and hop off for 24 hours! We planned a day of sightseeing completely around this cruise and it was splendid. Started off in Westmister - Churchill War Rooms (amazing!) and Westmister Abbey. Hopped on the City Cruise at the pier (very easy... More

We went on the City Cruise boat today and enjoyed the journey from Westminster pier to Greenwich ,it was not too busy for boarding about 2 pm,the boat was named Alpha and it was a single deck boat,my advice is to sit on the right as that is the best side for all the best sights. The seats were made of... I was all 'walked out' on our long weekend visit to London so a river cruise where I could sit and enjoy the world go by (and a beer) sounded great. OK we have done it before but not with this company and the vote goes to City Cruises. We joined at Tower Pier went up to Westminster and then... More

The trip up the Thames to Greenwich took 85 minutes which is slower than the competition. The boat was crowded and as a result it was often hard to hear the recorded narration. The narration was also not perfectly coordinated with the sites. It was an enjoyable trip but next time i would try one of the other cruise lines.

Fabulous friendly and slick service. Informative audio guide without being dull. The afternoon tea was beautiful, fresh sandwiches, scones and cakes, copious amounts of tea and the sights of London to view as we float along. Tower Bridge opening was for me an added bonus!
