In a busy, noisy expensive town, A wander down the canal from Little Venice to Camden lock is very pleasant, tranquil, picturesque in parts and very cheap. There are loads of options to come off the canal and explore different areas of London. I recommend, walk up primrose hill then pop into the local pubs for a swift half. The... More

After the bustle of the Camden Locks this was a quieter part of our canal journey and much cleaner than the Grand Union Canal, but still not perfect. Litter is somehow worse if it's floating and harder to clear. Lots of people walking the tow path and noises from the Zoo. We also saw a green parakeet that had escaped... More

The Regent Canal stretches between Camden Lock & Little Venice (Maida Vale). Canal boat rips are every hour on the hour & last 45-50 minutes. You can start at either end & go one-way or return. It was a very relaxing experience, although there was not that much to see. Yes, we went through London Zoo, but at canal level... More

We walked from Camden along the canals, through Regent Park until we found little Venice and it was really a nice route. I can't promise you that you will like it, but if you are after something different, far away from the crowds, the tourists, the fancy shops and restaurants, this picturesque route will offer it to you ungrudgingly. Little... More

Walking from Little Venice to Camden Town following the Regen't Canal will afford you a deep insight in what makes London tick. As more and more construction encases the last bits of charm London had left into mere showpieces surrounded by glass and cement by anonymous starchitecs, the Regen't Canal has also suffered fatal blows. However, if you do the... More

I have never walked the stretch of canal out to Limehouse in the East End but know the part from Kings Cross to Little Venice pretty well. It is a lovely walk on a sunny day, even if parts are rather industrial. Other parts along Regents Park, for instance, are really glorious and by Little Venice is pretty. The whole... More

We took the Hammersmith & City line from Hammersmith to Paddington with our two dogs emerging straight onto the canal footpath. Taking a 5 minute stroll we were inLittle Venice and the start of our walk to Limehouse Basin c11 miles to the East on the banks of the Thames. Unfortunately you can't walk the entire footpath as some sections... More

I live near to the stretch of Regents Canal in Islington and often walk a stretch of the route. It is a wonderful place to stroll with Joggers, Dog Wakers, Cyclists and general people anytime of the year. The Canal is kept well and you can delight in seeing birds, boats and there are many cafes near by for a... More

Really get to know London you must take this ride, the history and background on how this great city was developed is really a must. I lived in London for 3 years and never had any idea these canals were here.

I couldn't agree more with all the other reviews. This is a great area that provides something of a break from the noise and chaos of London. I was staying at a hotel near Paddington Station and the canal was easy to find. The paths are nice with plenty to see. After walking for a bit I returned to the... More
