This was better than I expected. Firstly payment, if you have an Oyster card it saves you cash. However if you want to make a return trip without stopping the other end, you have to get off, touch out at the exit, then re enter again, this is how you pay for your second trip. The view was staggering, and... More

We paid with our Oyster card, so it was fairly cheap, but the ride was short and the glass dirty which made it hard to see out of. The sights were okay but not something I would do again.

From the cable car you get unrivalled views from high above east London. I had previously done this cable car ride during the daytime and while the views were spectacular, dusk is even better. The lights on everywhere really define some of the sights and make them stand out. I never thought you would see so much, in so much... More

This is certainly a worthwhile experience. The UK's first urban cable car. Opened in June 2012, it consists of 24 cabins suspended on a 1.1km long cable supported on three helix towers which carry it over the Thames adjacent to the 02 Arena. Each cabin/car carries up to 10 people and they travel at between 2.2m-4m per second. The highest... More

This is loads better than the London eye in my opinion, the views are great all over the 02 and east London and the ride of the cable car its self is really smooth! Staff as you would expect from Emirates are second to none, really friendly and helpful. Recommended - we'll definitely do it again.

This offers the most incredible views and if you go on a quiet time, you can get the cubicle/carriage to yourself and whoever you are travelling with. It's a cheap visit too. Really is worth a visit without a doubt. One thing I would advise however, is that you may wish to return on the chairlift, because getting back into... More

Take this for what it is, a means of getting from A to B in London. If you want to see views from up high in London go to the London Eye or the Shard or even walk across the O2 arena. However it does offer excellent views of the river and as we went over to Greenwich for the... More

We visited the Emirates cable car having first taken the Thames Clipper boat, which was brilliant and I would highly recommend also. The cable car ride was about 10 mins or less, but some great views and something different and inexpensive (we had a discount as we had previously purchased travel cards) we then carried on our journey back into... We did a one way journey from Greenwich Peninsula to the Royal Docks after a wander around the old Dome. This is a real gem. For a little over £3 you get a 10 minute ride across the Thames. You get a great and totally different view of London from that experienced on the Eye. It was really quiet so... More

Emirates Air Line is a cable car over the Thames between The Royal Docks & Greenwich Peninsula. Although not operated by Transport for London, you can use your Oyster card for trips. I did a one way journey from The Royal Docks across to the Greenwich Peninsula. It is located a couple of minutes’ walk away from the Royal Victoria... More
