This is a wonderful place to visit. We are members of English Heritage (which i highly recommend) and that meant that we got in for free. We highly recommend you get an audio guide as this gives a good description of the palace. We loved the style of the place and we especially loved the great hall and using our... More

30s entrance hall fantastic design, each room had its own different style. The guides give a short tour of the old hall, worth listening to if possible.

Tucked away on a hill in Eltham, a fab little place to go and spend a couple of hours learning about how the 16th century ruics were brought back to life in the deco 30s.

One of the finest buildings from the Art Deco architectural era to be seen in London or perhaps anywhere in the uk. There are many examples nationwide but this one is lovingly restored and maintained. Truly amazing and beautiful.

This is a beautiful art-deco house with a rich royal history going back centuries. With beautiful gardens and a quaint little tea room that does a worthwhile afternoon tea set I would recommend this to everyone! Family friendly with garden space for family picnics, there are often art deco fairs and jousting events for kids, worthwhile to look up their... More

Lovely art-deco house with original medieval hall -- if you have an interest in the period(s) you could easily spend a day wandering around looking at the various rooms and displays. The gardens are glorious and deserve a visit all of their own. They are a wonderful place to come with children -- there are climbing trees, secret passages and... More

Eltham Palace is a wonderful place for families to visit. Art deco 1930s fittings and nice gardens including the remains of one of the Royal Palaces. Well worth a trip - local legend has it that a fampus horse race passed the Palace starting on a hill in Mottingham and finishing in Kidbrooke - all visible from the Palace.

Visited the palace about a month ago as part of our English Heritage membership and had been looking forward to going there for a while. The Art Deco style rooms and great hall look amazing and there are lovely gardens and fountain with great photo opportunities of the palace outside (although photos are not allowed to be taken inside the... Just 23 minutes by train from Waterloo East and a 10-15 minute walk lies an amazing building set amongst a peaceful attractive garden (great herbaceous borders) lying partly in the former moat. On approach one feels as though one is in a fairly ordinary suburban part of London but looking out from the grounds of the 'palace' it feels as... More
