This is a great way to go sightseeing through the Docklands and Canary Wharf, without having to trudge on foot or pay a fortune. Travel at non-peak hours, and try to get a seat at the front of the train. It doesn't have a driver, so it feels like a rollercoaster, and the routes actually curve and bend. Make sure... More

We used this way of transport several times on our trip to London, I found this service much better than the tube as most parts were outside with good views. The service was of a quick speed making it reliable. I find it weird these trains do not have drivers but that would not stop me using them as they... More

It's always a bit spooky riding a driverless train! The DLR provides excellent services not only to places like Excel and the O2, it gets you to top tourist offerings like Greenwich, Cutty Sark and the Emirates Air Line. And of course one terminus is right next to the Tower of London and Tower Bridge. Trains are clean and services... More

Loved our travels on the DLR. We stayed in Beckton next to the DLR station from there we started our daytrips in to the city. Paying by oyster card the best and less expensive way to travel on the DLR, tube and busses in London. We visited the city center, stratford, canary wharf and many other places by going with... What an experience it is travelling on the DLR!! The stations are massive and easy to navigate from A to B. Plenty of room and regular trains which are on time. It's nice to look out the windows and see the buildings being constructed since the last time we visited London.

Ahh the DLR is fab. It is a better experience than the tube in many ways. You get to see some of London whist travelling. Sit up front for the best experience as there often isn't a driver as it runs on autopilot.

I love riding the DLR, it is a different experience compared to the tube. Of course on the DLR you get to see London, rather than a dark tunnel. The DLR goes to useful places like Stratford and Cannery Wharf.

The DLR is the best way to view London's docklands. Tourist attractions are thin on the ground out this far east. You will only come here if you are seeing something at the O2 or ExCel venues. You will also use this if you when visiting the Emirates Cable Car or the new Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in Stratford. The... More

I love the DLR and every time I visit London I always take a ride. It is a marvel of engineering and the best seats of course are up front when it is running automatically without a driver. You can see a lot of East London from the DLR which is always for me very interesting. If you have an... More

We have been on the DLR a few times and always start off on the tube from Greenwich and as such have a day travel card. Avery time we travel on the DLR it seems that there is nowhere or no one to check your tickets (at least on some of the stops)... Although I do know that most people... More
