I enjoyed a great day yesterday learning to bake 3 different French breads. Maria and her helpers are so knowledgeable and encouraging. The group was very friendly and I came home with a bag of delicious bread, which I could hardly wait to try.We were also given the recipes and lots of helpful information about ingredients and equipment - can't... I did the French Patisserie course with Marianne, I've now perfected my Chou buns which I am most grateful for! Lovely group of students and love the Maria tote bag given out at the end. Might try a bread course soon!

My wife and i attended Maria's New York City class at Haven's Kitchen. What a great day! Maria is so friendly and knowledgeable. The class was so well organized. We managed to bake 4 different breads and fit in an amazing lunch and glass of wine. We hope Maria come back to NYC soon! We may have to fit in... More

Signed up for a bread making class that Bake with Maria did in New York City. It was great! I've always made a terrible mess when I tried to bake bread, but this class finally taught me where I'd been going wrong (way, way too much flour). We learned to make a simple, rustic loaf, bagels, Irish soda bread and... More

Bread-making has been an increasing interest for me so when this one-day tutorial was arranged as a birthday gift, I was keen for the day to arrive. It is a bit of a trek from Suffolk to London but every mile was worth it. From start to finish, it was a great day. There were seven of us all told... More

I've attended the baking 101 class in the beginning of april while i was on vacation in London. Loved the class, the atmosphere, and Emannuel's teaching style. I thought i wouldn't know how to bake the loaves when i got home but i've baked them twice since then: amazing and easy! Highly recommended

I was given the Bread Making 101 as a gift and did it with Emmanuel yesterday - it was excellent. Lovely group of people and Emmanuel was an excellent teacher (his book looks good as well). I went home with a bag full of lovely bread that my family COULD NOT believe that I had made myself. I had never... More

I am a nervous cook at best but Bake with Maria helped me to pipe pastry that was exquisite and fill it with yummy cream. What I really appreciated was the friendliness and flexibility of the owners, this is not a business environment where the aim is making money, it is truly run by those who love to bake and... More

I have just been on the french bread course and had a brilliant time. Learnt absolutely loads and got completely covered in dough (yes, my technique needs a little work). Having said that the bread we all managed to make was terrific. I now have the bug and will be back for more.
