Other famous productions at the Adelphi Theatre include Gertrude Lawrence in Cole Porter’s Nymph Errant, Ivor Novello’s The Dancing Years, Bless The Bride, Beatrice Lillie as Auntie Mame, Van Johnson in The Music Man, Lionel Bart’s Blitz! and Maggie May, Charlie Girl with Anna Neagle, a revival of Me and My Girl originally starring Robert Lindsay and Emma Thompson and in the Adelphi Theatre’s longest run (over nine years), the new Broadway production of Kander and Ebb’s Chicago. Revivals of Evita and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat have proved enormously popular. More recently, the theatre played host to the worldwide premiere of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musical Love Never Dies. « less

We went to see the Bodyguard after reading the great reviews it has had and were certainly not disappointed in the show it was first class but oh dear it was the most uncomfortable theatre we have ever been in the only seats we could get were in the centre of the third row of the upper circle which we... I saw The Bodyguard at The Adelphi. I found the seats towards the rear of the stalls to have a limited view when the cinema screen backdrop was in use. Staff seemed somewhat uninterested and the accoustics were not impressive. Toilets were immaculately clean and access for the less able bodied were good. Overall, a pretty average venue.

We went to the Saturday Matinee and did not realise that Beverley Knight does not work on Saturdays, we sat in the upper circle and at times when they were performing at the front of the stage it was hard to see them, but it was a wonderful show and the scene changes were great, the understudy was fantastic and... Wonderful show with Beverley Knight as Rachel. Whole cast were good. Some funny bits too. Seats comfy in the stalls and as it isn't too large a theatre it didn't take long to get seated or get out when leaving. Very enjoyable evening.

In my opinion she was very undurated when she came out in the 80,s Brilliant singer with a fabulous voice. Both took on the American accent extremely... More

We had an amazing time here. Beverley Knight's voice is made for this role! We had a great night and were treated like royalty by Victoria who looked after us from start to finish. A truly wonderful night:)
