Other famous productions at the Adelphi Theatre include Gertrude Lawrence in Cole Porter’s Nymph Errant, Ivor Novello’s The Dancing Years, Bless The Bride, Beatrice Lillie as Auntie Mame, Van Johnson in The Music Man, Lionel Bart’s Blitz! and Maggie May, Charlie Girl with Anna Neagle, a revival of Me and My Girl originally starring Robert Lindsay and Emma Thompson and in the Adelphi Theatre’s longest run (over nine years), the new Broadway production of Kander and Ebb’s Chicago. Revivals of Evita and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat have proved enormously popular. More recently, the theatre played host to the worldwide premiere of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musical Love Never Dies. « less

Brilliant show, utterly hilarious. I loved it! The social history aspect was brilliantly portrayed and very powerful., Harold Wilson was epic - nearly wet myself laughing! Go see it - makes you proud to be British.(Warning - foul language throughout)

It's an hour to go before my wife and I step into one of the most glorious theatres in London. As we're review the theatre and NOT the production I feel that I'm able to place this review before the curtain rises. The building is apparently the fourth on the site and has housed a variety of productions, including many... More

I went to see Body Guard at this theatre with my wife and some friends. We got some package tickets and the seats were high up. However there was no problem seeing the actions and it was a good show. The theatre is well located at Covent Garden and "Chinatown'. Food and drink is no problem. We went on a... More

Always try and see at least one musical and to our surprise this is a really good show Alexandra Burke can not only sing but act as well. The cast is just great the sets, lighting and effects are spot on. This has it all and it makes you realize what great songs are in the Bodyguard if you get... More

The Body Guard with Alexandra Burke was an unexpected treat. Her voice is phenomena. No, she's not Whitney, but she does her proud. The staging was fast paced and exciting, from start to incredible ending. I went with my adult daughter, who is a Whitney fanatic. She was pleased at the treatment of the songs and gave it a thumbs-up.... More
