Other famous productions at the Adelphi Theatre include Gertrude Lawrence in Cole Porter’s Nymph Errant, Ivor Novello’s The Dancing Years, Bless The Bride, Beatrice Lillie as Auntie Mame, Van Johnson in The Music Man, Lionel Bart’s Blitz! and Maggie May, Charlie Girl with Anna Neagle, a revival of Me and My Girl originally starring Robert Lindsay and Emma Thompson and in the Adelphi Theatre’s longest run (over nine years), the new Broadway production of Kander and Ebb’s Chicago. Revivals of Evita and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat have proved enormously popular. More recently, the theatre played host to the worldwide premiere of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musical Love Never Dies. « less

I'm not sure how to review the theatre itself, I mean... the seats were comfy and the staircases worked? All I can review is the show I saw there recently. "Made in Dagenham" was great fun. Really enjoyed it. Gemma, the lead woman is great, and it's pretty British. Genuinely all seemed enthused when performing. Quite surprised afterwards to hear... More

We visited Adelphi Theatre to see the famous Bodyguard musical. We've had a great time. As we arrived earlier we enjoyed a drink in the lougne but I must say that 20 pounds for gin and tonic is bit too much.

We loved this musical - very surprised how good it was. Really strong cast with excellent comic timing and great voices; indeed the songs were really good. Very lively, pacy show. So funny: Harold Wilson and Barbara Castle were brilliant, and the female machinists had great banter. The staging is impressive, and I loved the 60s outfits. You probably will... More

Brilliant show, utterly hilarious. I loved it! The social history aspect was brilliantly portrayed and very powerful., Harold Wilson was epic - nearly wet myself laughing! Go see it - makes you proud to be British.(Warning - foul language throughout)

It's an hour to go before my wife and I step into one of the most glorious theatres in London. As we're review the theatre and NOT the production I feel that I'm able to place this review before the curtain rises. The building is apparently the fourth on the site and has housed a variety of productions, including many... More

I went to see Body Guard at this theatre with my wife and some friends. We got some package tickets and the seats were high up. However there was no problem seeing the actions and it was a good show. The theatre is well located at Covent Garden and "Chinatown'. Food and drink is no problem. We went on a... More

I treated my wife to tickets to the finale performance of The Bodyguard at The Adelphi theatre on Friday 29th August - and all I can say is.....Wow! There was a small queue outside when we arrived, but we were inside and in our seats within couple of minutes of entering. The show was brilliant, the two main characters especially.... More
