I have really mixed feelings about this area of London. One the plus, there's an incredible sense of history. The dock is huge - as in seriously massive - and it's easy to imagine its historic glory. You can see Millennium Mills across the water (looking a bit worse for wear, though I hear it's going to be patched up... More

Large dock area now fully developed and containing hotels, luxury flats, restaurants, bars, and of course the Excel centre. At one end of the dock is a cable water ski course, and the Emirates cable car which travels over the River Thames to the O2 Arena. There are a few original dockside cranes, and a central walkway from one side... More

The Royal Victoria Docks is a really quiet and lovely part of the docklands. It also houses the Royal Victoria Docks Watersports center. There is an annual Waterfront festival which is well attended with impressive displays of fireworks as well as a lot of good family friendly fun shows/ events.

I've been using this bridge since it opened a long time ago. I now have a pushchair for my 2 year old and we can never cross it as the lifts are down 99% of the time. I come by it every day and I just don't understand why whoever owns it can't look after it properly. To walk around... More

This must afford some of the most beautiful views of London out towards the east. There are lovely views down towards the barrier, the new bridge, and beyond it Canary Wharf and the City. To the other direction is London City Airport, and it's great fun just to stand under the Connaught Bridge watching the planes flying in. They fly... More
