Staying at a nearby hotel and too exhausted to look any further, we had dinner at the P of T and did not regret it. Good pub grub - fish and chips for she and chicken mushroom pie for he. Delicious, creative. Busy place, friendly staff, quick kitchen.

This place was always crowded, but we went one night for traditional fish and chips and we really enjoyed it! The food was amazing and the atmosphere was very laid back.

We went for a London “pub” experience and it did not disappoint. Crowded with what seemed like a mix of various aged locals and business types, it had a more contemporary atmosphere—not your dark, smoky pub. Our waitress was upbeat and attentive in spite of the busy night. We all had excellent fish and chips washed down with a pint.... More

Apathetic staff who virtually ignored us; we could have walked out with out without paying and they wouldn't have noticed! Service was slow and the food wad cold and tasteless. Very disappointed after reading rave reviews.

Had a drink in the bar one evening and had a great relaxed atmosphere and we returned for breakfast one morning. My husbands breakfast was great but I was not so keen on the hollondaise sauce on my eggs benidict.

Ordered a hamburger. It was raw. Waitress did not even offer to refund our money. Beer was fine. Definitely never eating here again.

Really good food here. I ate here several times, and the food was always excellent. And reasonably priced - not cheap, but not nearly as expensive as it's become too easy to find. Not as many ales as I'd like for a pub, but the food makes it worth it. Plus it's reasonably quiet, no TV or video games, and... More

I agree with the most, a great place and mostly the people who serve you make the difference. I guess the chef knows his food and serves it well. The portions are nice with a varied choice, something for everyone. Recommended if you staying in the area, like we did.

The only thing I can say against this place is that they have a poor selection of beers. The food was more than worth it price though.

Staying in South Kensington

Neighborhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
