Throughout the construction of the Olympic Park, The Greenway was closed. This is one of my favourite walks across east London and it's loss was felt even more keenly by those who used it as a safe, traffic free foot or cycle commute too. One of the few bonuses of this closure though was the creation of The View Tube.... More

This is much more fun! Situated just across the road from the Olympic Park it has great food or just a coffee. Also serves locally brewed beers. Do walk through the cafe to find the outside seating area amongst the vegetable and herb garden!

Visited the View Tube over the weekend and after a long cycle we decided to have lunch. The food was homemade and delicious and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. There is a place to leave your bike, a chance to look at art work and get involved in projects. I would recommend a look at the website!

Happened upon here when out exploring the newly opened Olympic park. Very friendly staff/owner, good coffee and tasty food. There is an outdoor seating bit we discovered, and from inside there are views of the park. Inside is a strange mishmash of seating, things for sale and things just to look at: antiquey china, guitars, books. Really like this place.

It's a bit hard to find this place if you don't know where it is. We rented a couple of bikes for a couple of hours. The chap was really friendly and helpful, giving us maps, advice on where to go etc. a real easy process and cheap too. £14 for 2 hours seemed very reasonable. Easy to kill time... More

Great food, brilliant views, interesting art gallery and bike hire, wonderful atmosphere and laudable ethos. I hope it survives, please support it if you visit the qeop or stadia. Just on national cycle route 1, on the greenway. Definitely go for the bike hire, it is cheap and a great way to see the regeneration of this part of London.

I have stopped off here occasionally while cycling to and from work, and always found the staff helpful and courteous, and the food is freshly prepared and great value. If you buy a cup of tea, expect a large teapot of great tea! There are also great views of the Olympic stadium. This is not only a cafe, but also... More

Dropped into the café for lunch when walking around the Olympic site trying to find a way in and view the canal system around the area!. Near Pudding Mill Lane station. Also on the Greenway which is a good place to see the Olympic Stadium from. Excellent panninis and coffee. Good welcome from the staff. Worth a visit. D&S 19/7

I visited the View tube cafe last weekend after a year and found its been extended with a glassed in terrace and best of all a new manager Mario who was very pleasant and staff more friendly. It's a great position and worth the confusing walk from The main road past the road works and building of new station at... More

Took a walk down to the View Tube from Hackney Wick. It was a hot day and the cafe near the viewing board was a lovely place to relax and eat freshly prepared snacks. Our salads were lovely. Afterwards it's an easy drop down to Pudding Lane DLR for a trip back into town.
