Lovely atmosphere with a few drinks and sunshine on Southbank. Drinks are a bit pricey but that's to be expected due to the great location. Lots of food stalls and things to see just outside Udderbelly so you could definitely spend the best part of a day there. Just make sure you research the shows properly cos some are really... More

- the quirky outdoor beer garden is a great option on a warm day/evening with lots food and drink stalls. - the shows are typically great. This year we saw an acrobatic show and last year, a quirky standup performance. Really enjoyed both - unusual venue & lots of fun. Highly recommended. See photos of my visit on Twitter @mrrands

Atmosphere was lovely, loads of reasonably priced food and drink stalls. Very prettily decorated and we went into the Udderbelly and watched the best of the comedy store which was hilarious!! Highly recommend d to all

Always worth a visit every summer. Well organised with a varied line up of acts. Went to see the 'Circus Geeks', juggling with comedy!

Love this little hide away for a drink to catch up with friends and hope to return to see a show sometime over the summer. One of my favourite places to visit when in London since the fantastic events from the Olympics we've visited every trip and always find a great atmosphere and something different to do

I really like the feel of this venue and area its generally laid back and friendly, although parts of the outside area are spoiled by people sprawled across the ground with half eaten burgers and chips that you have to pick your way through. I visited particularly to see Black Cat Cabaret, in truth I was expecting something a bit... More

Came here on a nice sunny day for a few glasses of Pimms. It's a great little outdoor venue perfect for pre drinks. Didn't see a show but the drinks were great.

The South Bank is the cultural hub of London and during summertime, the Udderbelly is the heart of the area. It can be hard to get a seat but there's plenty of area to stand. Several bars and food outlets. All of which are of a high standard, and of reasonable price. I've not yet seen any of the theatre... More

Every year the South Bank seems to do a little bit more to encourage residents and tourists alike to spend some time by the river. The Wunderground and Udderbelly have been around a few years now and really are the jewel in the crown of the expanding South Bank "vibe". The one negative point is that the large bar at... More

Staying in Southbank

Neighborhood Profile
Southbank
Big time attractions such as the London Eye and a thriving theatre scene (compliments of the National Theatre and the Young Vic) are but a few of the reasons that Southbank is such a collectively cherished part of town. With plenty of family friendly activities and venues lined up along a pedestrianized river bank between Westminster Bridge and Waterloo Bridge, visitors can always expect a casual and festive atmosphere. On top of all the fun stuff to do at Southbank is the opportunity to simply sit back and admire photo-op views of iconic landmarks like Parliament and St Paul's Cathedral, just on across the Thames.
