We looked for this pub because we had found it on the internet among the “must see” pubs in London. It is near Charing Cross Tube station, easy to find if coming from Trafalgar Square. It’s the most typical British pub: there’s lots of people outside, enjoying a beer, decorated and furnished with lots of Sherlock Holmes’ memorabilia. On the... More

We ate in the dining room upstairs a few years ago and could not wait to return. We were disappointed on this visit. Don't know if there are new owners or what, but the menu had changed and the food was not nearly as good. We had Cottage Pie on our visit the first time and it is not longer... More

We found this pub.restaraunt by accident walking from Trafalgar Square to The Thames River. Walked by a little before lunch. No one outside, thought it was closed but we went in and very, very glad we did. Very small but adorable English pub. Got a table upstairs where the little replica of Holmes' office is located. Sat right in front... More

We stumbled upon this place during a protest in central London. Being a fan I had to at least pop in for a pint! Sadly they were out of their Sherlock Holmes ale so we had Stella. The barman was hilarious. We decided to pop upstairs to the restaurant to eat and although it was packed we managed to squeeze... More

Great little English pub filled with more locals than tourists. We both ordered the Sunday roast and it was delicious. It is rather casual and you order food and drinks at the bar. It was a great cozy place to spend an evening.

Called in for a late afternoon meal. Two of our group had cottage pie which had to be sent back as it was cold. One person had a beefburger which came with about 6 chips and no salad garnish.I had the steak and ale pie which had about 6 pieces of steak in it and was served with just a... More

This pub is not on Baker Street, and is not done up to resemble the consulting detective's home, save for an upstairs replica of the famous 221B sitting room. This is instead a real working pub not very far from Victoria embankment. I was on my first trip to London, accompanied by Sherlockian friends from England and Germany. We had... More

Nothing is really wrong with the pub, it is just simply average. This includes service and atmosphere. An okay place to go to if you were looking for a pub that serves fish and chips in London. The pub has good curb appeal which draws you in but once you're in, it loses that appeal that you were expecting.

The building that houses the Sherlock Holmes House Museum was built in 1815 and has been decorated to resemble Sherlock’s home from famous stories. The buildings address was changed to match the address of Sherlock’s home in the books as well. Even though it’s just a replica of a fictional character, I really enjoyed walking through the house. I could... More
