Nipped in for a quick pint at the end of the evening. Good range of real ales in a quirky environment with lots of SH memorabilia, although the Hound of the Baskerville "dog" was just plain weird. Did not have any food so cannot comment. Unfortunately the gents toilets were disgusting, deep breath before entering. Apart from this I would... More

Came here for a quick bite and enjoyed our meal. Had the fish and chips which were tasty and reasonably priced. The service was pleasant and the "Sherlock" room was interesting. If you need a more local pub for the atmosphere, this will do the trick.

We were left off here after a Jack the Ripper tour. It was crowded with Remembrance Day participants but we sat outside and it was lovely. Wonderful beers. Very friendly staff and customers and quick service. Beers are reasonably priced and really seems like a local place. Did not order off menu but the food looked good and very reasonably... More

I traveled to London with my daughter and we visited the pub just because of the name, but we loved it so much we ate there three times. Food was good and the service was great! We would highly recommend it!

We stumbled on this little place while looking for the Benjamin Franklin house. Every seat was taken and when we left there were people drinking and visiting outside the Pub. I had a warm goat cheese tart with some wine and it was very good. Great atmosphere.

We ate upstairs. The service was pretty slow that night but the food was great. There is a cute little museum just off the upstairs restaurant which was closed but we could see in from a window in the dining area, it was a small room of Sherlock themed items.

We met friends here for a pint and to view some Sherlock Holmes displays. The Guinness was good but the displays were disappointing. A basic pub with a room set aside for dusty Sherlock Holmes stuff.

Staying in Trafalgar Square / Embankment

Neighborhood Profile
Trafalgar Square / Embankment
With its iconic Nelson’s Column, majestic oversized lions and brightly-lit fountains, Trafalgar Square is not just considered the heart of this bustling London hub, but the very core of the city itself. Beyond this esteemed gathering place are more famous icons, as well as a disproportionate numbers of the city’s most popular cultural attractions including the National Gallery and many West End theaters. Along the way to these major sites are quiet lanes and antiquated pubs to discover, as well as riverside vistas to enjoy on the embankment. With a calendar full of celebratory events, any time of year is a fine time to visit.
