Drunk here many times. Typical London pub, mixture of locals and tourists, its been here for a while. Main attraction (apart from its central London site) is the collection of Holmes memorabilia, from stage and movie. Features older movie and TV series. The head of the Hound of the Baskervilles in a glass case is an attraction, glowing green, in... More

We loved this place! The atmosphere was typical London, pub food and drinks. There is a quiet restaurant area above the bar that was great. We all enjoyed our meal; I had the roasted lemon herb chicken that was delicious. The fruit crumbler was amazing too. Even if you don't car for Sherlock the food is still authentic and tasty.

This pub is gorgeous - the Sherlock Holmes theme is pulled off brilliantly and the staff are lovely. It was a shame though that the food was niceish but not great and that some little things really let it down. There was no drinks menu in the restaurant which meant you had to ask for individual prices or order a... More

Come here of you want great English pub food. The cumberland sausages are delicious. Good service and just a fun and intimate place to eat. We took our kids and they were so nice to us.

The minute I saw this pub I dragged my partner inside and am glad I did! For any Sherlock Holmes fan this place is a must. Lots of memorabilia and interesting things to look at and read. We had lunch there and the meals sizes were generous and we both enjoyed we ate. It's a nice little pit stop to... More

good place to have a beer, look at holmes memorabilia, but eat somewhere else. Almost empty dining area upstairs, but had to wait a long time both to be waited and to get the food

Dropped in for a pint of beer at first but we had a burger and chips too as we liked the atmosphere. The burger was ok but NOT a Wow! The service was efficient. Prices are reasonable, comparative to other pubs in the area. A nice place to come.

Ok it is true... The pub may be intended for tourists due to its location and the display of Holmes memorabilia.... nevertheless it is a good one and you will enjoy to stop by after a busy morning in central London. I came here with a friend who was visiting me from Italy and we were desperate for a place... More

Dropped in for a pint and some dinner while staying in a nearby hotel. Staff was friendly and I found a seat right away. Fish and Chips and mushy peas were to standard -- that is, nicely done, not expensive but not extraordinarily good or bad. Pub has a lot of Sherlock Holmes memorabilia on display, but I did not... I went here on a whim with 1 other family member. We ABSOLUTELY loved it. Although we heard that it was a tourist trap later - and it may well be - we had a FABULOUS meal. The best fish & Chips I've ever had in my LIFE, and I'm from the east coast of the USA so we eat... More

Staying in Trafalgar Square / Embankment

Neighborhood Profile
Trafalgar Square / Embankment
With its iconic Nelson’s Column, majestic oversized lions and brightly-lit fountains, Trafalgar Square is not just considered the heart of this bustling London hub, but the very core of the city itself. Beyond this esteemed gathering place are more famous icons, as well as a disproportionate numbers of the city’s most popular cultural attractions including the National Gallery and many West End theaters. Along the way to these major sites are quiet lanes and antiquated pubs to discover, as well as riverside vistas to enjoy on the embankment. With a calendar full of celebratory events, any time of year is a fine time to visit.
