We came across this pub and decided to have a drink in here and lunch. The staff were very helpful, attentive, and thoughtful so the service was really good something that seems to be dying out in other places so we were pleasently surprised. Drinks order taken and arrived quite quickly. Meal was really nice (fish and chips and lamb... More

We went to the restaurant due to the interest of our daughter who loves the show! and it appeared to be a fun pub. Very interesting inside. We ate upstairs. One waitress, meal very average. Didn't want to sell us an appetizer as one of our entrees. Probably more appropriate for having a beer and hanging out vs. a restaurant!

We came upon this pub unexpectedly and decided to go in for dinner. Having learned the ropes about pubs (order at the bar), we asked if we could get waited on, and were told we could go upstairs and get served - same menu. Got seated right away and waited on by the most efficient, cheerful waitress I've ever seen... More

No service when do you get through the door. You need find a table by your self, choose the beverage and food and pay directly on the bar counter. You pick up the beverages and wait for the food. Took 30 minutes to come two starters...nice ones. I t was a very nice and funny experience except by the fact... More

The food, drinks in this pub are average with prices to match. It is still very busy but that must be mostly the name and central location.

We had been looking forward to this visit and there was also quite cozy. They had many exciting beer , the one we got was Sherlock Holmes Ale. Can well recommended. We were there at 11 and would have English breakfast, which they sold from 9 o'clock to follow their menu. However they opens at 11 and cuisine first at... More

Great atmosphere, memorabilia and of course hearty English pub fare- The night we were there included a gentleman dressed as Sherlock Holmes reading one of his novels. It was a great evening, alot of fun.

I've been to this pub several times over the past few years. The pub does contain Sherlock Holmes memorabilia which was the reason we went there originally but now keep going back as we enjoy the meals offered. The pub does get crowded but there is an upstairs dining room, the meals have always been good and are well priced.

This has been a regular of mine for meeting friends over the past 25 years and over that time nothing has changed. Busy after work but the service is always efficient. To be honest I have not had food at this pub for many years after several disappointments and I don't think it is a great place for eating, but... More

Staying in Trafalgar Square / Embankment

Neighborhood Profile
Trafalgar Square / Embankment
With its iconic Nelson’s Column, majestic oversized lions and brightly-lit fountains, Trafalgar Square is not just considered the heart of this bustling London hub, but the very core of the city itself. Beyond this esteemed gathering place are more famous icons, as well as a disproportionate numbers of the city’s most popular cultural attractions including the National Gallery and many West End theaters. Along the way to these major sites are quiet lanes and antiquated pubs to discover, as well as riverside vistas to enjoy on the embankment. With a calendar full of celebratory events, any time of year is a fine time to visit.
