Dropped in for a pint of beer at first but we had a burger and chips too as we liked the atmosphere. The burger was ok but NOT a Wow! The service was efficient. Prices are reasonable, comparative to other pubs in the area. A nice place to come.

Ok it is true... The pub may be intended for tourists due to its location and the display of Holmes memorabilia.... nevertheless it is a good one and you will enjoy to stop by after a busy morning in central London. I came here with a friend who was visiting me from Italy and we were desperate for a place... More

Dropped in for a pint and some dinner while staying in a nearby hotel. Staff was friendly and I found a seat right away. Fish and Chips and mushy peas were to standard -- that is, nicely done, not expensive but not extraordinarily good or bad. Pub has a lot of Sherlock Holmes memorabilia on display, but I did not... I went here on a whim with 1 other family member. We ABSOLUTELY loved it. Although we heard that it was a tourist trap later - and it may well be - we had a FABULOUS meal. The best fish & Chips I've ever had in my LIFE, and I'm from the east coast of the USA so we eat... More

Spent an afternoon in here recently. Typical London pub with central wooden bar, not a very big pub which makes it quite cosy. Staff were very friendly and were quick to clear away tables etc. good selection of beers and the Merlot red wine was good. Food was reasonably priced and good portions. Mainly tourists as customers due to the... More

I see a lot of average reviews here and I can sort of see why. The food here is relatively average, although it does provide quick service and typical British fare. It is good for a lunch or early dinner, perhaps pre-theatre. This is very much your archetypal tourist pub, streaming in due to the name of the pub. We... More

Get the staff right, the food right and the drinks right and you've got your pub right. It's elementary. The Sherlock Holmes is an interesting venue with its small Holmes display in the upstairs restaurant, but our visit was made by the quality of the staff - from those behind the bar to those in the restaurant. Attentive, pleasant, friendly... More

Visited on a wet Saturday lunchtime in January. Most of the clientele seemed to be tourists, obviously attracted by the Holmes memorabilia. Staff were very pleasant - cheerful without being overly familiar and the place is furnished in 'shabby chic, style. Beware, its a little draughty at some tables near the doors so customers seem to take part in an... More

Place to see Sherlock Holmes's memorabilia (it's all over on the walls) but otherwise nothing very special. Nevertheless, I keep coming back just to sense the spirit of this pub:).

Went for birthday dinner with some friends, to the restaurant upstairs. The chair I was sitting on was falling apart (didn't notice till we left as I was propped up against the wall). The menu was good. The waitress, though trying to be nice, was over-friendly and used nothing but slang, not exactly unprofessional, but odd. The fish and chips... More
