Easily the best walking tour I've done, I had considered just gettin glost along Bricklane and the surrounding streets alone to see the art, but I'm so glad I deciede to go with the tour, the guides are so... Very interesting tour of street art in the Est End. John Jeavons was a great guide - passionate and very knowledgeable about the field, with an engaging and fun style. We'd definitely recommend it - in fact, we already have to others who are now keen to book up!

I booked this tour as a surprise birthday pressie for a mate and opted for the walking version rather than the bike one. Our guide, Lily, was a French lady who has been in London for four years and speaks practically faultless English, with an accent to match. She started the tour explaining who she is and why she's here... More

Very interesting tour. For some reason our group did not make an overly motivated impression at the beginning, but Josh, our Guide tried his best, he was very funny and knows a lot of stuff. At the end everyone had a good time. If you want to know more about Streetart, book this tour! Thanks!

See a totally different side to London. Many of the art that we saw I would have totally overlooked had it not been pointed out to me. Much of the work will soon be destroyed by new developments, so see some of the alternative history of London while you have the chance.

I was in the tour with my little sister. We took the tour with the guide Josh, that was great. The tour was unique. Don't afraid from the British accent ;) Thank you for two hours of interesting colors and stories.

Alternative Walking Tour is free/pay-what-you-can walking tour of Spitalfields' street art and history. Our guide was Josh and the tour lasted 2 hours. The area covered isn't large and you end where you begin. Josh was entertaining and informative, and he had a soapbox too, but the 16 year olds really enjoyed him and thought the tour went by really... More

Ok so you can see a lot of street art walking around brick lane/shoreditch etc but you would not find half the stuff these guys show you. Plus these guys have some insight into the who,why and when of the pieces - would recommend to anyone. If you are in to "non-street art" give this a go and expand your... More

Ben ( the guide ) had a passion for street art and a depth of care for the community he gives you a tour around. It was fascinating to not only see more of the "real" London, but to also hear a bit more about its history and the changes going on. This helped to set the scene for understanding... More

For anyone looking for an untypical visit of London you have to join the Alternative London Tour. We thought it would only be about street art but Doug also explained us so much about the political and cultural aspects of the neighborhood. Walking around and seeing all this beautiful art is amazing. Doug was full of passion and energy which... More

Staying in Spitalfields

Neighborhood Profile
Spitalfields
For a glimpse of Georgian and Victorian London at its most pristine, or a peek into what's apt to be the next big global trend, the hipster zone of Spitalfields can provide hours of amazement. Around the clock, this is a haven for early morning bargain hunters sizing up its street markets, foodie foragers throughout the day, or late night revelers hitting some of London's most popular bars and clubs.

Wedged between the business-minded City of London, expressly trendy Shoreditch, and zestful Whitechapel, the lines between traditional and contemporary beautifully blur in this historic East End nexus.
