I mainly took this tour just to see some pretty art that I wouldn't have been able to see/ find otherwise on my own, but got so much more out of it. Doug our guide was super informative and passionate throughout the whole tour. He gave us solid background, and all the deeper aspects that go into street art. Super... More

We had a great time with Ben showing us around, generously sharing his experience and insight of the local scene under a blazing sun in an incredibly blue sky. Thanks to him, we gazed at superb painted walls and statues, all adding definitely to the place. We definitely recommend these alternative tours that are good fun as well as food... More

Our guide, Josh, was fantastic. His passion for and knowledge of public art was fantastic and made our tour extremely enjoyable. Apart from street art, the tour content also included an introduction to the cultural history of the Shoreditch area, which only broadened the appeal of this tour for us. We would highly recommend it!!

Fantastic street art tour of the area around Brick Lane. Our tour was lead by a street artist who showed us some of her pieces and was clearly very knowledgable with other working artists all stopping to say hi.

This tour was exceptional. Our guide combined art, history, and philosophy to give us a picture of how street-level culture has evolved in East London. Theres something in it for people of diverse ages and inclinations. Be prepared to be on your feet for two hours, bring a bottle of water, and enjoy.

I arrived with an attitude that "Street Art" is a bunch of vandals with spray paint. After spending the morning with Ben Slow, one of the local artists, exploring the creative works on Shoreditch's walls, doors, roofs, sign posts and construction sites, my perspective has reversed! It's real art, with subtle and sometimes blaring messages. It is small or large... More

If you are looking for a walking tour which will show you a different side of London then take one of the Alternative London tours! We took the Alternative London Walking tour which was around the east end of London from Spitalfields market to Brick Lane and then Shoreditch and back. The best part was that our guide was a... Went in this tour last week with my 14 year old daughter. We did a similar street art tour in Paris 2 years ago which inspired the booking. We chose the bike tour which was so great! We saw tons of street art and many neighborhoods steeped in history and teaming with activity. Our guide, Jeremy, was super knowledgeable and... More

WOW!!! I organised this trip for my year one students (5-6 years old) as part of a street art project we are doing with the inquiry question "What do I want to leave behind?" following on from an archaeology project on what Stone Age Humans left behind and wow what an amazing trip it was. The booking process was flawless... More

Staying in Spitalfields

Neighborhood Profile
Spitalfields
For a glimpse of Georgian and Victorian London at its most pristine, or a peek into what's apt to be the next big global trend, the hipster zone of Spitalfields can provide hours of amazement. Around the clock, this is a haven for early morning bargain hunters sizing up its street markets, foodie foragers throughout the day, or late night revelers hitting some of London's most popular bars and clubs.

Wedged between the business-minded City of London, expressly trendy Shoreditch, and zestful Whitechapel, the lines between traditional and contemporary beautifully blur in this historic East End nexus.
