Something different, and easy to reach by tube: a great park, and several refreshing ponds. There is one for ladies only. Great location for a picnic. There is also a marvelous mansion full of art, with a nice cafe.

I have worked on and off in Hampstead for over 40years.it is an elegant area.It has changed ,for the worse over the years.there used to be an excellent butchers, but now he is gone.Once upon a time I would go to the Everyman for a Marx Bros triple bill for less than a fiver. Now it will cost you about £12.Pubs have... Hampstead is a lovely neighbourhood in north London, around the huge Hamptead Heath. Just walk around it is good enough, but there are very interesting tourist attractions, like Keats House, Fenton House, Church Row, Flask and Well Walk, etc. You will find nice and traditional pubs as well. Just take the Nothern Line up north till Hampstead station

This is the part of London that has everything you'd expect to see in an amazing city. It's history and charm are surrounded by green lush heathland that gives the area a village feel. Some streets wind up steps and down hills and you can imagine Victorian goings on - it just hasn't changed. There are secret parts that need... More

A visit to this 18th century village is a great experience..Wonder the tiny streets with its 18/19th century cottages and who knows rub shoulders with your idol of the theatre or the cinema screen.. A walk through Flask Walk and down Willow Road where I used to live ,as a matter of fact, and Willow Cottages the 19th century terrace... More

Hampstead is a peaceful town and a great place to escape the city. I would highly recommend the Hamstead walking tour.

Why can't more of London be as quaint, charming and liveable as historic Hampstead? Located just a short Tube ride from the city centre, Hampstead is a rather exclusive village situated in the highest part of the city. Indeed, its Tube station is the city's deepest. As the aforementioned 'exclusive' suggests, Hampstead is home of the affluent. Sting lives in... More

This is really worth making time for in a trip to London. It will give you an opportunity to come away from the noise and crowds of the city. I highly recommend the london walks tour as it takes you beyond the high street. Very interesting!

Our favourite London "village". Spend a day here - stroll around - visit Fenton House with it's walled garden and collection of musical instruments and Keat's house (home of the poet). Walk up the hill from the tube station to Whitestone Ponds where carriages coming out of London used to be taken through the water to cool the wheels; then... More

Hampstead is a must whether you are visitng London or have been there many times. You will always see something new. Most buildings have not changed for at least a century but the shops and people have also changed little since the 1960's. We have the coffee bars back and the short skirts! You will always see familiar faces from... More
