We visited the West End Theatre District twice during our most recent stay in London. One visit during the day was to purchase tickets for a show from one of the ticket booths located in the vicinity of Leicester Square. The second visit was in the evening, to attend the theatre performance at one of the many theatres found in... More

For the concert and theatre lover, this is a must visit for world travellers. New York has Broadway, London has the West End. The Book of Mormon is the obvious pick at the moment in my opinion but no shortage of options to suit all tastes. Even to simply walk through the area is something worth doing with street performers... More

Always go to a show in the West End when I'm in London. Cheap tickets are available at many locations, now on the web.

Duchess Theatre, Catherine Street. Small, even "cosy" feel to this Theatre. Went to a Saturday Matinee of the show. Brilliant comedic value from even before the start with the cast interacting with the audience as you take your seats. Good, unobstructed views from everywhere in the house. The play is well delivered, hilarious in parts and entertains without effort. Enjoy... More

We were wandering around one evening and saw people waiting in line for a show. We got cheap tickets and has so much fun. We saw "the woman in black" it was a little scary. The theatre was beautiful and the nuisances of theatre in a different country were fun. They have a girl walking around selling little cups of... More

The West End is my favorite part of London. It has everything from grand old theaters to cozy pubs and funky clubs. Definitely the place to go on a night out.

Staying in Soho

Neighborhood Profile
The go-to district for a good time in London, Soho hosts a wealth of world-class theatres and a compelling lineup of cafes, restaurants, pubs, bars, and clubs. At Soho's core is London's original Red Light District and the epicenter of the LGBT scene – and thus the city's hottest nightlife. For shopping enthusiasts, Soho is not only the home of London's greatest concentration of boutique shops, but also the most strategic place to set off on a tour of the world's most celebrated department stores. In the southern part of the neighborhood lies Chinatown, with its multitude of delicious and affordable restaurants. Closer to the Thames, Chinatown's narrow and teeming lantern-lit lanes spill onto the expansive hub of glitzy Leicester Square.
