I LOVE Broadway, but the West End theatres are so much prettier, the shows (almost) as good and the ticket prices are cheaper. We saw 'Gypsy' (with Imelda Staunton), 'Miss Saigon' and 'The Commitments' this trip and had a great time!

Been here so many times and have got a cheap ticket on the night - the day before - whenever! Have seen so many amazing plays and everyone is so helpful! Great places for pre-show dinner/drinks or after dinner too! Do miss it! Seeas many fantastic shows as you can!

I recently attended the new production of Miss Saigon at the Prince Edward Theater in the West End. Having seen the original production several times, including the original cast on Broadway, I have to say that this production was among the finest if not the finest I have seen. It is my understanding that it may be moved to Broadway... More

the theatre district is always busy, especially in the evenings. Loads going on with lots of bars and restaurants to visit before taking in a show. Covent Garden is only around the corner as well.

This is a very busy area of London that contains superb theatres which show such a varied array of musicals, plays and comedies that you are bound to find something to your taste. The prices may bring a tear to your eye but I consider them extremely good value for money for which ever show you see. There are numerous... More

This show was a HUGE disappointment in almost every way. It opened - not with a bang as it should have done, grabbing you by the throat and whacking you in the face with the excitement and spectacle of the talent and energy of the performers but like a damp squib with an homage to Michael Flatley and the original... As a child I saw West End Theatre every Summer and the magical feeling has not faded. If you are visiting London from another country then I urge you to plan a theatre trip during your visit. (I think that Brits will probably be visiting for shorter periods and so would generally only make specific trips to London for theatre)... More

If you love theatre, this area is heaven. You could probably attend a different production of a play, or musical, or ballet, or opera, or concert here every day of the year and still not exhaust all the possibilities. Bars, restaurants, nightclubs etc. are plentiful but as with any busy entertainment district anywhere you should be on your guard at... More

Got last minute tickets for this show in the circle. Had excellent view of the stage although our row F had very limited leg room. We managed to swap rows at interval time tho which our legs were grateful for. The show was amazing. Fab singing and dancing and Michael Watson who played Frankie Valli was fantastic. I highly recommend... More

Staying in Soho

Neighborhood Profile
Soho
The go-to district for a good time in London, Soho hosts a wealth of world-class theatres and a compelling lineup of cafes, restaurants, pubs, bars, and clubs. At Soho's core is London's original Red Light District and the epicenter of the LGBT scene – and thus the city's hottest nightlife. For shopping enthusiasts, Soho is not only the home of London's greatest concentration of boutique shops, but also the most strategic place to set off on a tour of the world's most celebrated department stores. In the southern part of the neighborhood lies Chinatown, with its multitude of delicious and affordable restaurants. Closer to the Thames, Chinatown's narrow and teeming lantern-lit lanes spill onto the expansive hub of glitzy Leicester Square.
