Theatres, pubs and walking

This is what London is, the theatres, pubs, places to see, things to do. No visit to the smoke is complete until you have been here and experienced one of the many fabulous shows.

we rented a 3rd floor walkup flat on Neal St which runs down into Covent Garden Market about 400 yds away. Great location, tube station at the end of the street basically. Lotsa theaters on or around Leicester Square. Great pubs nearby (Nags Head and White Lion come to mind). Quaint habit of locals and workers congregating around outside pubs... More

Many shows here, preview before hitting Broadway. Every bit the quality you will see on in NYC. The theater itself had a lot of interesting history and they are small enough that all the seats are good views. So many choices, if you like theater, grab some last minute tickets and go!

I love London's west end. There are so many amazing shows to choose from with new ones every year! The theatres interiors are all stunning and so different from each other. Staff at the theatres are welcoming and friendly. Everyone has to see at least one west end show in their lifetime! Highly recommend for anyone in London!!!!

We came specifically to London to see Memphis: The Musical and loved it just as much as the Broadway version. While we were in town, we saw Billy Elliott (tickets ordered online). Our seatmate at the Memphis production reminded us about the process of going to theater's box office first thing when it opens to get bargain prices on their... More

We went to several plays in the West End and really enjoyed the whole experience. Lots of people and restaurants. A surprise for me was the ease of getting a cab in the area. It is also close to several tube stations.

Went and saw Jersey Boys whilst here and it was awesome! Didn't realise how many songs I knew! The tickets are cheap last minute, a lot cheaper than in Australia. Highly recommend checking out a show in the West End whilst in London!

I have to admit this is not my favorite neighborhood of London, but maybe it is the most lively of them all. Especially during the night, when it can become really crowded. Numerous entertainment options, with the most characteristic being of course the theaters and the musicals. Plenty of restaurants, caffes and bars to choose from but for some unspecified... More

Spring is upon London and everyone's out and about especially on a weekend evening. This place gets extra crowded because in addition to the theatre crowds, you also get the spillover from Chinatown tourists and the people in the regular and gay bars Watch a west end show and also take and walk and soak in the atmosphere

Staying in Soho

Neighborhood Profile
Soho
The go-to district for a good time in London, Soho hosts a wealth of world-class theatres and a compelling lineup of cafes, restaurants, pubs, bars, and clubs. At Soho's core is London's original Red Light District and the epicenter of the LGBT scene – and thus the city's hottest nightlife. For shopping enthusiasts, Soho is not only the home of London's greatest concentration of boutique shops, but also the most strategic place to set off on a tour of the world's most celebrated department stores. In the southern part of the neighborhood lies Chinatown, with its multitude of delicious and affordable restaurants. Closer to the Thames, Chinatown's narrow and teeming lantern-lit lanes spill onto the expansive hub of glitzy Leicester Square.
