Our hotel was located in the middle of the west end and was excellent for exploring this part of London and the many theatres in the area. It's very busy with tourists bustling around. There's plenty of bars and restaurants and your spoilt for choice for somewhere to get pre theatre meals and drinks.

We saw 'Warhorse' which was excellent, full of talented actors who amaze with their puppetry skills! Very moving show. Also saw 'The Commitments' which was way beyond our expectations! Such a funny show, full of wonderfull singing! A really feel-good show which the audience went crazy for! Would recommend either as they were both fantastic!

Was only here in passing both during the day and night, but both times it was very lively. I felt happy just being there (I know, very lame) and seeing all the theatres, the posters and lights. It was incredible.

The best time to visit this district is absolutely in the evening. Just walking around makes you feel special. Lights, music and the big boards. Like a small hollywood scene!

I went here with my boyfriend to see my friend in The Commitments and thoroughly enjoyed the production, it was funny, lighthearted & well worth the money. We found a hotel nearby for 50 & used the Tube so it wasn't an overly expensive night. I'll be going back.

Best show ever. Of all the many shows we have seen this is the best. Very powerful images on the stages enhanced by very powerful performances by the cast.

If you don't go to the sanctioned half-price ticket kiosk in Leicester Square, you can purchase directly from the box office of the show you want, either in person or online. BEWARE of the Telegraph Box Office (of the UK newspaper). I was just ripped off for a £25 pound "booking fee" per ticket!

We have been to London half a dozen times now, each time attending a different theatre to watch a show. Covent Garden is well worth exploring and so is the shopping around it.

Staying in Soho

Neighborhood Profile
Soho
The go-to district for a good time in London, Soho hosts a wealth of world-class theatres and a compelling lineup of cafes, restaurants, pubs, bars, and clubs. At Soho's core is London's original Red Light District and the epicenter of the LGBT scene – and thus the city's hottest nightlife. For shopping enthusiasts, Soho is not only the home of London's greatest concentration of boutique shops, but also the most strategic place to set off on a tour of the world's most celebrated department stores. In the southern part of the neighborhood lies Chinatown, with its multitude of delicious and affordable restaurants. Closer to the Thames, Chinatown's narrow and teeming lantern-lit lanes spill onto the expansive hub of glitzy Leicester Square.
