Russell Square is another of the many small parks in and around London. All have the same attraction, they are small havens in the busy London life and they are a great place to take some time out and relax, from the noise and rush of London. Russell Square is no different - a haven to unwind

Russell Square is one of London's many beautiful squares but is unusual in having a café. I have always found this café to have very good food & excellent value for central London

We walked here after visiting the British Museum. There are no statues or fountains, only grass and flowering plants. Well, it is the tail end of winter but there are a few flowers. It is a good spot for testing after the museum.

We had a walk through Russell Square daily as our daughter has found the grey squirrels there, and insisted that we feel them! Lots of people walking there dogs there, a quiet, clean little square in the hub of a busy city!

Passed through Russell Square on our way to Euston St. Stopped and had lunch at the cafe in the park, a quaint little area.

The park is to your left as you turn out of Russell Square underground. Walk diagonally across if you are heading to the British Museum. The park was laid out in the early 1800's when terraced mansions for the upper classes were laid out on all sides. Coming from the underground you enter the park at the north end. There... More

This is a lovely large square, one of the biggest in town. I have occasionally walked through it when in the Bloomsbury/British museum area. I had the misfortune to have to walk through it late one night on my way to a hotel and it became horribly apparent that this is a 'gay male' 'cruising' area after dark, with all... More

My sister and I visited this cafe today, we ordered mushroom pizza between us, a muffin , a Danish and 2 coffees , we ate 2 or 3 bites of the pizza, it was difficult to cut , it had a baked hard crust and it was very greasy, the muffin and Danish were stale and the muffin had no... More

Staying in Bloomsbury

Neighborhood Profile
Bloomsbury
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.
