It is difficult to point out what makes Russell Square so special and so much better than other little squares in Bloomsbury... it's probably the trees. The little café is lovely; a true family run business, wonderful, friendly people, and good food!

I stayed in an apartment near Russell Square, and it was the perfect place to have breakfast or pass by every morning. If you're staying nearby, grab a tomato-mozzarella croissant from Pret-a-manger or pick up something to eat and drink from Tesco in the morning and go to relax and eat at Russell square. It's one of the most enjoyable... More

A lovely middle size park for a stroll with enormous Plane trees, a little café and a pleasant atmosphere in the heart of Bloomsbury.

Nice room, adequate in size and nicely finished. Lovely marble interior to the hotel. Very good service from the staff. Full English breakfast was lovely. An excellent value hotel within 10 minute walk of Soho and theater land.

Russell Sq Cafe in the Park ! I love it . Rather than sit in my hotel for coffee in the morning I make straight for here before a busy day walking around the sights of London. Enjoying a cuppa watching people on their way to work , children going to school or feeling guilty observing the eager peops taking... More

A garden gated city with a very simple story: by the inventor, to the realizer, from the original idea to the maintenance of the same after almost three centuries. In fact the landlord, Duke of Bedford, conceived the large garden, protecting them from paths of new roads. On the sides of the garden square, buildings still occupied by upper-middle-class families,... More

Although only a couple of hundred yards from the peaceful & thought provoking Tavistock Square gardens, the contrast is fascinating. My latest visit had the central fountain following majestically - why is flowing water so fascinating?? Enjoyed a snack in the Cafe.

Staying in Bloomsbury

Neighborhood Profile
Bloomsbury
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.
