I can't stress enough how much I love this park. Packed in amongst the hustle of bustle of central London, Russell Square is a little haven of peace where you can sit out on the grass, by the cafe, by the fountains or under the trees or, if you're feeling energetic, you can go for a jog around the perimeter.... This a very pleasant park to sit and watch the wildlife and enjoy a break from the hustle and bustle of London and opens from 07.00 a.m. to 10.00 p.m. daily. The fountain is a refreshing sight on a hot day and it changes height as well as being illuminated when it starts to get dark. The restaurant in one... More

A real Oasis in a busy city, everything seems quieter and slower. The Cafe is superb, really worth a visit and non London priced food - how refreshing! Super staff too. There was a stall selling bits and bobs, and some lovely people too. It was like taking a great big sigh and relaxing.

Russell Square is a typical small London park. It is attractive and clean. I'm sure it's a nice place for the locals, or for tourist to take a rest when leaving the British Museum. We did not view it as a tourist attraction. Certainly not worth a special trip to visit.

Russell Square was nice. Alot of people and alot of shops and stores. We ate in the pubs in the evening. There all around the area but London is really spread out and you have to take the but or underground to go anyplace.

Visited July 19, 2013 This small park sits between the British Library and British Museum but really seems to be a place that lacks tourists. Many people walk their dogs, do yoga, and read in this park which leads me to believe that they are locals. Beautiful place to sit and people watch or feed birds. I wasn't wild about... More

I was in Lindon working at the nearby Senate House Library and found this to be a wonderful little place to eat a takeout lunch or meet a friend for a cup of coffee or tea. Beautiful gardens.

Starbucks, Giraffe and other cafes line one side of the Square. Supermarket and chemist are catered for and there is also a line of shops to choose from as well!. Occassionaly there is a table tennis table in the middle of the walkway that people are free to use. Close to a nice little park on the eastern side too!... More

Russell Square is a lovely and quiet square surrounded by lots of greenery. There are many trees, flora and plants, nice grasses, beautiful water fountain in the park square and people can be seen jogging or strolling with some even with their pets. The square is just directly opposite to my hotel (President Hotel, you may like to read my... More

Somehow overlooked by tourists (but not byb locals), this is a great square with a lot of green space to explore and stroll in. While the park tends to get a bit iffy after dark, it's perfectly lovely during the day for a short stroll. There's a Tube station nearby, which makes the place very accessible.
