We discovered this nice square whilst we walked from the Russell Square Underground Station to the British Museum. We found a cafe on the northeastern side of the park packed with people hiding from the rain. In the middle of the park is a water fountain, adding lively rhythms to the quiet air. We were enchanted.

Lovely location and close to Russell Square tube, this should be superb. The ordering for food and drink is confusing and chaotic. Food is average. What a disappointment. Tables are slow to be cleared of debris, pigeons have plenty of time to scavenge. It would be easy to improve with simple changes.

Beautiful Square near to British Museum, take a sandwich and spend a few hours in this relaxing park, went at breakfast and ate in relative serenity before a long training day, didn't feel like I was in London, wonderful!

If walking from the West End to Camden be sure to walk via Holborn and Russell Square. A few tourist shops and good traditional pubs and next to Great Ormond Street hospital and some great cafes on Lambs Conduit Street.

We were looking for a place to have a beer for him, a cup of tea for her, and a light lunch. We found all it in the cafe in Russell Square park, for a reasonable price with friendly and efficient service. Although we sat outside we were given a glass for the beer and china for the tea. Nice park, but the Café was a disappointing experence. Dull cake, and we did tested 2 different cakes to see what was best but sorry to say nothing for us at all. You can take a bus to the park from Oxford street, after all shopping, but bring something to eat from the nearby Tesco Express instead.

A larger square than many, but still quite nice, with a cafe and good paths and pretty trees and flowers and you might as well head there now, if you're close, because it is beautiful.

Hotel breakfasts are convenient, but now I've found this wonderful cafe in such a fantastic location, I'll be sure to take breakfast here when I'm staying in this part of London. Two coffees and a couple of breakfast sandwich came to £11 which is good value for Central London. Recommended!

This is a lovely little park. It was sunny when we were there, so it was very attractive. Apparently there is a cafe there but we didn't notice it.

A typical square of London that fortunately is open to the visitors. Very relaxing and with beautiful surrounding buildings, it offers the opportunity to cool down, away from the city noise. The British Museum is just in the corner.

Staying in Bloomsbury

Neighborhood Profile
Bloomsbury
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.
