This was a really interesting one. I took my girlfriend to Vinopolis with the expectations of trying some good quality wine and/ or perhaps something that I would be unable to find myself at lets say a supermarket or your average wine store. With this in mind I didn't mind to pay a premium so I pay the £37ish for... More

Tiny shots of in my opinion, not so good wine. Used to actually have people serve you. Just felt like a conveyor belt of pay, get you in, get you out.

We had a lovely visit to Vinopolis, doing the self guided wine tasting tour. The introduction was informative and gave guidance for the rest of our visit. We enjoyed tasting the different wines and it was a lovely way to spend a Sunday afternoon. Our tickets were buy one get one free, so effectively half price and I wouldn't have... More

This was a gift to us from our daughter, a new experience! There were only eight in our introductory group and our time spent in the theatre area was both informative and amusing. After, we were guided around the main area and instructed on how to get our samples from the machines then we were left to move around at... More

I had the best time at Vinopolis, there are some really great wines and the staff are fantastically friendly and knowledgeable about all the different wines. I would absolutely come here again. Having said that, I do agree with some other reviews that the venue does have a rather 'corporate' atmosphere. I also think that there is a huge lack... More

very interesting, great wines but not cheap. The building is cool and well located for various London attractions. I enjoyed the lecture, the wine even more...many types but i thought expensive to sample.

Visited here a few times, The Whisky Exchange is located here. As far as the building is concerned, it a hollow sole less place, no atmosphere, no air of anticipation. A few vending machines for what I think is wine, a few pamphlets on shelves, sole less seating areas. There is vast displays of wine in the main area but... More

I'd bought my sister a wine tasting experience Voucher for her birthday. What I expected was completely different to what we got. I thought we would have someone take us through the different types of wine - informing us on what the differences are and what makes a good wine and a bad wine... Along the way we would get... Staying in Southwark

Neighborhood Profile
Southwark
Even before the arrival of the instantly iconic Shard, the riverside scene in Southwark had moved well beyond any up-and-coming phase of development. For quite some time, locals and out-of-towners alike have loved browsing the boutiques of Bermondsey High Street, foraging through the bounteous stalls at centuries old foodie haven Borough Market, and flocking to the banks of the Thames to enjoy some of Britain's biggest attractions such as Tate Modern and Shakespeare's Globe. Despite Southwark's many popular draws, instant calm can be achieved easily by turning down almost any side street. For more urban buzz, a quick stroll across famed bridges like the pedestrianized Millennium Bridge or the ever photogenic Tower Bridge yields access to the very core of Central London. And with London Bridge Station as this neighborhood's main transportation hub, getting across town (or to anywhere in England for that matter) is a relative breeze.
