We booked a tour for two the day before on the recommendation from the concierge at our hotel. We had been in London for several days and were anxious to see the country side. Our guide (Keith) was prompt and courteous. He hit the mark with informative and intelligent commentary and discussion showing us quaint villages and beautiful country side.... More

Richard is a native of England and retired journalist for the BBC, so naturally, he was quite knowledgeable. He drove our group of 4 American adults all over London and the surrounding areas in his Chrysler, minivan. Richard was on time each day, flexible, accommodating and funny. He loves when you ask "silly" questions most of all. He really knows... More

I hired a driver for a day tour of London because I'm getting a little older and it's harder to get around. It was a little expensive but worth it. He took us to see the sights. He took us into Westminster Abbey, St. Paul's and Tower of London. The Gay Pride parade was in London that day and it... More

We booked an all day Jane Austen private tour. The tour was advertised as covering the key locations associated with her life. The agenda was agreed to and complied with. We were met by the guide, on time, at our hotel and were comfortably transported to each destination. However the guide, while very cordial, professional and knowledgable about England, was... More

Excellent tour with attention to detail from the time we left on the Eurostar. We were greeted at Gare du Nord by Richard and he was a splendid guide. He provided details to us that only a native Parisian would know and we appreciated his tips & information. He even took the time to drive by my Company's office in... More

This is our fifth tour with British Tours and once again they exceeded our expectations from booking to completion. Simply stated, there can be no better way to travel in the UK than in the care of British Tours. Caterina handled all of our arrangements cheerfully and professionally from first contact, the itinerary, the accommodations, and through to the conclusion... More

Alan was our tour guide. He was an energetic, knowledgeable retiree who showed his passion in hosting two couples from the states and sharing many stories about the history of England. We will definitely request him as a guide on our next trip.

We did a tour with Nigel to Stonehenge and Bath. Nigel was very pleasant and a wealth of information and the minibus was very comfortable with large windows. Stonhenge was unteresting and Bath was a wonderful place.

I just returned from a seven day trip to London. We used British Tours for a private guide every day. We had three different guides and each one was great in their own way. The business office was also very helpful and accessible when needed. Just a great experience overall.

My son and I enjoyed a first-time visit to England in May 2015 and highly recommend British Tours. We booked four tours: London Day Tour (including Churchill’s War Rooms), Duxford IWM and Cambridge, Dover and Churchill’s Chartwell, and the Bletchley Code Breakers. Jim Davies, our guide on all tours, couldn’t have been a better choice. As a Cambridge graduate and... More

Staying in Soho

Neighborhood Profile
Soho
The go-to district for a good time in London, Soho hosts a wealth of world-class theatres and a compelling lineup of cafes, restaurants, pubs, bars, and clubs. At Soho's core is London's original Red Light District and the epicenter of the LGBT scene – and thus the city's hottest nightlife. For shopping enthusiasts, Soho is not only the home of London's greatest concentration of boutique shops, but also the most strategic place to set off on a tour of the world's most celebrated department stores. In the southern part of the neighborhood lies Chinatown, with its multitude of delicious and affordable restaurants. Closer to the Thames, Chinatown's narrow and teeming lantern-lit lanes spill onto the expansive hub of glitzy Leicester Square.
