Far beneath the majesty and splendor of the Paris Opera House, hides the Phantom in a shadowy existence. Shamed by his physical appearance and feared by all, the love he holds for his beautiful protegee Christine Daae is so strong that even her heart cannot resist. The musical opened at Her Majesty's Theatre on 9 October 1986 with Michael Crawford and Sarah Brightman in the leading roles, and there have been dozens of productions worldwide since then. Now in its 26th record-breaking year, The Phantom of the Opera continues to captivate audiences at Her Majesty's Theatre in London's West End, after more than 10,000 performances. Andrew Lloyd Webber's mesmerizing score along with jaw-dropping scenery and breathtaking special effects, magically combine to bring this tragic love story to life each night.

I booked a champagne package for my wife's birthday & was extremely impressed with the service received, from my initial booking to being let out of a side entrance at the end to avoid the crush of exiting!! We were met on arrival by the lovely Sarah who looked after us impeccably. She's a credit to the theatre!!!. We had... More

Wonderful show, such amazing voices. The decorations are shocking: how did all that fit on the stage? Go see it - you won't regret it.

I've seen a couple of shows in London since I moved here, but non of them can top this long running show. I did a 67 pound Dinner + The Phantom of the Opera package with a friend. The seats were excellent (E18 - 19) and you even pay less if you do the Dinner package. The story is lovely... More

I saw this Monday night (May 18th) it was a last minute decision so we were up in the dress circle which would never be my choice for seats but on saying that we could see everything but we still paid out over 100 euros for two tickets for seats that were up in the sky!!! The sets are amazing,... More

I saw the Saturday evening show on 25 April, and it was possibly the best musical I've ever seen. Everything about it was just phenomenal, the singing, acting, dancing, orchestra, the opulent sets and costumes. Seeing 'Phantom' in London is a must for anyone visiting the city.

We saw this in London 20 years ago after my husband and I got married and it is still magical. The music is timeless and the current cast are wonderful. However we got a chance to go back stage and met the leads on our first visit, a rare once in a lifetime occasion which we could not unfortunately repeat... More

This was a second visit to this show with my companion who's birthday it was. I'd previously seen a Saturday night performance just before Christmas & was amazed how fresh it looked for a production that's been running since 1986! This is a wonderful experience, the whole cast are hand-picked for their singing & acting ability. The spectacular settings &... More

Amazingly talented cast. Special effects were better than anticipated right down to the falling chandelier. Small cosy theatre as expected due to the age of the building

Staying in St. James's

Neighborhood Profile
St. James's
Perennially fashionable since the days of Henry VIII, the aristocratic “Clubland” of St James's is a premier destination for high end craft and bespoke design. Here you’ll lose count of the Royal Warrants (which indicate that the Royal Family patronizes the establishment) seen in shop front windows, even during a short stroll to bordering Green Park or St James’s Park. With the brightly lit and constantly buzzing junction of Piccadilly Circus at its northeast corner and none of Central London too far away, this is an surprisingly central and accessible part of town, especially given its prosperous demeanor.
