a fair amount of work going on, so the flow is disrupted, some of the buildings are dated, but are listed, so little can be done with them. with such a collection of animals, there is something for everyone. snowdons aviary is a must !

1. Pick a sunny/dry day: almost all the animals have two parts to their paddock/enclosure. An outside half and an inside half. The inside half is not necessarily visible to the public and this is true for most large animals. If you don't pick a sunny/dry day then you risk not seeing some of the large animals such as Tigers,... More

The only thing that endeared us to the zoo were the staff taking pictures and welcoming us. It was dreadful. There were hardly any animals that we could see through dirty windows and the food amenities were rubbish beyond belief - who, in this day and age, runs a business selling food but doesn't provide a card machine? I was... More

We visited London zoo having been in the summer to Whipsnade, and we weren't disappointed! The only problem we had was we ran out of time as we had to travel home. The zoo is at the top of Regents park in London and is a lot more compact than Whipsnade. The aquarium is massive so that alone takes a... More

The overall layout of the zoo was good with a decent collection of animals. Was worth getting the fast track tickets to skip the queues. We enjoyed the penguins and tiger exhibition, however some of the other enclosures were a little disappointing. Work on the new lion and monkey enclosure was going on when we were there, hopefully it will... More

(I should preface this review by pointing out that for some odd reason London Zoo is also listed under ‘restaurants’ and lots of reviews appear under this heading rather than under this more appropriate listing of 'attractions'. Not realising this double listing I posted my original review under the other section, so many of my observations relate to comments in... More

We went to London Zoo last Saturday, deciding on choosing this Zoo rather than our usual local Zoo (ColchesterZoo) as we expected that London Zoo would be bigger and better.......what a mistake!! We booked online and for myself, my partner and 6 year old daughter is cost us £55. We also had the train fare to London from Essex which... More

We had been to London Zoo years ago, we thought it would have been even better with time but we found it a bit run down and tatty in places, it was quite expensive for a family entry. We would not return now. It's a shame as it holds fond memories for us both.

Came to the zoo today and was very disappointed. Half the animal houses was closed for refurbishment and what we did see there didnt seem to be many of or they was hard to see. Travelled 2 and a half hours just to visit the zoo and left after about an hour and a half

Thank you for your feedback. We do house over 750 species of animals and these can be seen throughout the day. However, as we allow all of our animals to exhibit their natural behavior, you may have to revisit enclosures throughout the day or take a while looking at each enclosure to spot the animal. We have advertised talk times... More
