The family visited London on the Bank holiday weekend. After seeing posters on the tube the kids wanted to go to London zoo. We had a very enjoyable time, especially in the new childrens adventure area. You can spend the whole day there and see lots of animals close up, the giraffes and meerkats were a favourite. You can then... more

Expectation could be a key issue with this zoo. Having lived in London for many years, I'd picked up that the zoo had faded from it's glory years. A click on trusty tripadvisor confirmed my thoughts, add in a forecast for rain and my trip to the zoo was shaping up to be a bit of a disaster. But it... more

I can understand some of the criticisms but we had a really good day out at London Zoo. We went on a sunny Sat in early May with my parents and our 12month and 2.5 yr old. We went by car arriving at ~10.30am and found the parking (£12) quite easy and close to the main entrance. Queue was very... more

I have to whole heartedly agree with many of the other reviews...this day out was a huge disapointment. Luckily I was not subjected to the enormous entrance fees as we had bought tickets through tesco clubcard points (highly recommended to lessen the rip-off factor) Despite the over priced shops, cafes, icecream stands and little 'extra' attractions (bouncy castles etc) which... more

Not as good as Chester and if you don't have much time in London, unless you have someone with a particular love of animals; I'd definitely recommend some of the more famous sights in London. This was a relaxing Sunday activity and it was a lovely day. We got the tube and then walked through Regent's Park, which if you've... more

I have to say I'm surprised that the zoo gets such bad reviews on this site. Putting to one side the fact that it is rather expensive, the attractions themselves are really pretty good. I've been to city zoos in Singapore, Berlin, and Auckland, and I genuinely think that London compares pretty favourably to any of them. There's plenty of... more

Went to London Zoo on the 6th April 2009 with 3 kids and babies. Entrance fees were a rip off, at £18.50 for adults and teenagers,£15 for kids 3-12 and £17 for disabled. Babies got in free though. Had to wait around 20 mins for a Scooter as mum is disabled. First thing we saw was gorillas, which were probably... more

What an utter rip off! I really don't know where to start is it with the overall lack of value for money, the substandard cafe with the Michelin prices or the lack of care towards the animals' wellbeing. I have been to many zoos in my life - this is by far the worst. more

I've been to alot of zoos in my lifetime and know good from bad. Unfortunately London Zoo falls under the "bad" category in my opinion. I live here but used to live in the US. Yes, I know in the US there is more space available so zoos are somewhat gigantic in comparison to what is possible to do here...but... more
