This new years eve my friends and I decided to go on a river cruise. We were promised a fun night with dinner, drinks and to bring in the new year opposite the houses of parliament (where one would presume there'd be a good view of the fireworks?). A view perhaps similar to the one advertised on the website? What... More

We hopped on the river cruise as a part of our The Original Hop On Hop Off package and it was INCREDIBLE. We absolutely loved every minute and the Waterman Guide was sensational - his knowledge and humour was fabulous. We were the last Ferry to Greenwich so the sun was setting as we docked thereby making our return journey... More

We took the boat from Westminster to the Tower in the early evening, it was the perfect time for a trip on the river. We had a fantastic view of the Tower Bridge as well as all the other sights along the way, including "the ugliest building in London" (according to our guide), plus the Globe Theatre and St Paul's... I was sceptical at first thinking what can be so special about going on boat and sightseeing well I'm glad that I was wrong cos you can actually see so much more!!which bus tours or walking won't give you!

This was a really great experience, especially with the commentary. The views are brilliant and the information was entertaining. We took three trips in two days and the one after dark was fabulous!

We traveled from Greenwich to Tower Bridge. I have visited London many times and it is the first time I have been on the Riverboats. You get a good view of London form the river. Definitely worth trying if you are in London.

We pre booked our tickets and arrived after our train and tube journey at Westminster Pier. We travelled to Greenwich on the Chay Blyth and we given an excellent commentary about all the sights, historical events and some funny stories from the surrounding area. Well worth trying this. Greenwich is lovely and quieter than central London.

Staying in Westminster

Neighborhood Profile
Westminster
If you only had an afternoon to experience London on a grand scale, Westminster would be a wise place to start. The ornate Houses of Parliament and Westminster Abbey sit adjacent at a corner of Parliament Square, and a short stroll along The Mall leads to Buckingham Palace. Trafalgar Square and Nelson's Column are just up the road as well. As captivating as the architecture is, the wonders of Mother Nature are highlights of the area too. St James's Park (arguably London's loveliest), the expansive Green Park, and pedestrian friendly tree lined paths along the river showcase the exquisite manicure provided by English gardeners. Just beyond the landmarks and the gorgeous outdoor spaces, quiet residential squares and age old local pubs offer a more subdued take on this global seat of power in the heart of London.
