After wandering around Hampton Court Palace, which we arrived at by train, thought a leisurely trip back by river boat to Westminster Pier would be nice. Wrong. Boring. No commentary, lacklustre amenities, and uncaring crew. nearly fell asleep. Wish I had.

Perfect floating public transport, hop on hop off is the way to see London from the riverside. Comfortable and fast!

we took a nice ride up and down the Thames, it gives you a completely different view of London and allow you to get off at different places and see a few area's . we rode to the end, Greenwich , we saw the Naval college and the greenwich time ball drop. on the way back we sipped a glass... More

Loved the trip from Westminster to Hampton Court on a cold but sunny day. We were on a boat used in the evacuation of Dunkirk. It takes at least 3 and a half hours one way. The seats are not the most comfortable. Think a number of tourists thought they were going on a boat similar to the Thames Clipper!... More

So relaxing and the views are spectacular. Show your travelcard and you get discounted prices. £2 for one stop off to the Shard.

We had a great day out to Hampton Court, taking advantage of the “two for the price of one” via the Totally Thames Festival - but obtaining the voucher from the festival website was difficult and confusing. On the trip to Hampton Court there was a very informative commentary which was a bonus. Having read some of the negative reviews,... More

I have always wanted to do this trip from Westminster up to Hampton court. The only shame was the day we chose to go, it teemed with rain all day. But we still enjoyed it. We rode on the Connaught which was over 100 years old and it was brilliant. They have a bar on board selling bottled beers and... More

We couldn't prebook but there was plenty of room on the boat. Lovely sunny day for it, very interesting with commentary part of the way of the 22 mile trip from Westminster Pier to Hampton Court which took three and a half hours. Such diverse scenery once out of the City with lots of wildlife and very expensive houses along... More

When fed up with walking around this is a good way to see some more of London - and have a rest at the same time. Trip up to Greenwich is relaxing and plenty to see when you get there and loads of places to eat

Staying in Westminster

Neighborhood Profile
If you only had an afternoon to experience London on a grand scale, Westminster would be a wise place to start. The ornate Houses of Parliament and Westminster Abbey sit adjacent at a corner of Parliament Square, and a short stroll along The Mall leads to Buckingham Palace. Trafalgar Square and Nelson's Column are just up the road as well. As captivating as the architecture is, the wonders of Mother Nature are highlights of the area too. St James's Park (arguably London's loveliest), the expansive Green Park, and pedestrian friendly tree lined paths along the river showcase the exquisite manicure provided by English gardeners. Just beyond the landmarks and the gorgeous outdoor spaces, quiet residential squares and age old local pubs offer a more subdued take on this global seat of power in the heart of London.
