On searching the website it stated that there is a 10% discount using the Oyster Pay as you Go ... when I got to Kew Pier I was told there was no discount, only if I had the London Pass Travel Card. The boat was half an hour late. At least there should have been some commentary as to where... More

Took this trip very good. Dined on board, good food and wine. Very busy but we were lucky we had a window seat for dinner. Being an ex Londoner we never took these trips whilst we lived there. If visiting London this is great alternative way of seeing the capital. Together with dinner be hard to beat.

It was a short excursion on Thames by boat, which took about 1 hour. It was very romantic and it gave the possibility to see London city from a different angle. If you have an Oyster card show it to get a discount :)

A great way to see the sights and relax and enjoy London. Everyone should take a boat trip. We loved ours.

Tried to travel from Kew Pier to Hampton Court on Friday 3rd July for my dad's birthday. Went to book tickets whilst leaving elderly frail parents in a strategic location across the bridge so they wouldn't have to make the journey should the boat not be running (as the lack of information on the website implied). I was told it... More

Very much on a whim I decided to take the boat trip from Westminster to Hampton Court one afternoon in May. I had a free afternoon and didn't really face walking around museums or the usual attractions. There wern't that many people on board, midweek, not school holiday...so I had plenty of choice about where to sit and started off... More

We ventured from Westminster down to Greenwich by river boat (about half an hour) during which the boatman/guide pointed-out some of the Thames embankment sights and properties along the way in a rather offbeat and amusing manner. There were some interesting pointers for future follow-up and things I did not know existed or otherwise did not really know where they... More

We went down to Grenwich on the river cruise boat and it was lovely. The guide on the way down was very informative and made us laugh. He pointed out lots of landmarks and gave a really good commentary. On the way back we just had a recorded commentary which was out of sinc so wasn't really useful. If you... More

As trains/underground transport is more tricky to get to Greenich, we choose the river boat cruises as a means of transport. We got to travel peacefully past iconic london landmarks and arrived cool and un stressed. Covered by our Oyster Card was also a bonus.

Staying in Westminster

Neighborhood Profile
If you only had an afternoon to experience London on a grand scale, Westminster would be a wise place to start. The ornate Houses of Parliament and Westminster Abbey sit adjacent at a corner of Parliament Square, and a short stroll along The Mall leads to Buckingham Palace. Trafalgar Square and Nelson's Column are just up the road as well. As captivating as the architecture is, the wonders of Mother Nature are highlights of the area too. St James's Park (arguably London's loveliest), the expansive Green Park, and pedestrian friendly tree lined paths along the river showcase the exquisite manicure provided by English gardeners. Just beyond the landmarks and the gorgeous outdoor spaces, quiet residential squares and age old local pubs offer a more subdued take on this global seat of power in the heart of London.
