We took the cruise from Westminster to Greenwich and Back. It's about 90 minutes each way. It was a beautiful day and a great way to see all the major sites; Big Ben, London Eye, St. Paul's, Downtown Skyscrapers, Globe Theater, Tower of London, Tower Bridge, and on & on. Our 1st boat guide said very little, except that he... More

We took boat ride from surrey quays to Westminster pier and its worth it! The cruise along the thames river offers a scenic ride. You can enjoy the view of all the buildings from the boat. The boat is very comfortable and also has cafe. Must try!!

We had spent lots of time around the Thames over the years, but never on a boat! When our friends invited us we thought it a bit silly. But, it was great fun and a totally different perspective! To top it off, it was a rainy, foggy day (it was London, after all!) so we could get out of the... More

We took the London Transport related boat for the cruise. It was absolutely terrific. there is seating inside and upstairs. We were lucky with the great British weather and sat up top out and back. The commentary was very lively and funny but highly informative. The views of London from the Thames are second to none. Seeing Canary Wharf from... More

We took the boat to and from Kew Gardens starting at Westminster Pier. The captain provided an entertaining and informative narration going up to Kew. He knew great detail about all the bridges we encountered and many other sites along the route. We found it a great way to transition from the crowds of Westminster to the more relaxed Kew... More

We thought why not and it was well worth it - took the boat from Embankment back to North Greenwich - loads of selfies, beautiful views and a fun ride with friends. Very smooth so dont worry about sea-sickness! Snacks on board too!

We were blessed by lovely weather which really made this trip. The commentator was cheery and informative - obviously loves his job. It is a lovely way to sit down for a while and sightsee. Quite a long return trip so take this into account if planning visits to other sights.

Staying in Westminster

Neighborhood Profile
Westminster
If you only had an afternoon to experience London on a grand scale, Westminster would be a wise place to start. The ornate Houses of Parliament and Westminster Abbey sit adjacent at a corner of Parliament Square, and a short stroll along The Mall leads to Buckingham Palace. Trafalgar Square and Nelson's Column are just up the road as well. As captivating as the architecture is, the wonders of Mother Nature are highlights of the area too. St James's Park (arguably London's loveliest), the expansive Green Park, and pedestrian friendly tree lined paths along the river showcase the exquisite manicure provided by English gardeners. Just beyond the landmarks and the gorgeous outdoor spaces, quiet residential squares and age old local pubs offer a more subdued take on this global seat of power in the heart of London.
