All aboard the ‘orrible omnibus for a ride around the dark side of London. The Ghost Bus Tours’ classic Routemaster has been redesigned to give passengers London’s first ‘Fright Bus’ service. On-board actors and technical trickery combine to create the scariest tour in town. A creepy conductor provides the commentary for this sinister sightseeing show, revealing haunted places, unmarked burial grounds and the skeletons in the capital’s cupboard.

Arrived by train at London Waterloo and walked the short distance across the Hungerford bridge taking in the wonderful view of the city lit up along the old river Thames. We found the bus on Northumberland st opposite the Sherlock Holmes pub so nice and easy to find. We boarded the classic old routemaster and awaited our tour. I expected it... More

One of the worst things we've ever done. Plot was very poor and one of the 'actors' was inebriated. Expensive and afterward they wanted a tip. Maybe we had the wrong crew - others seemed to enjoy it, but our recommendation is stay away.

We enjoyed our tour the guys were fun and entertaining. It's a good way to see some of the sights and have an interesting time, the scary part was not really scary but it didn't stop us from having an enjoyable time and maybe learning a few new facts. Well done guys.

Fantastic experience for all the family. Even my 81 year old Mum had a great time. An excellent tour.

I see some saying it was terrible. Looks like it depends how good the actors are doing the tour you are on. We had a young lady conductor who was brilliant and a big Yorkshire guy playing Mr Hinge who was also excellent. We enjoyed it a lot, Top marks.

Toured 18.15 on Friday 30th October Overall, the tour was fun and very interesting. I'd not really describe it as scary though. The two actors were great, involving the passengers well, and the main Scottish one ("Vinnie Price") was particularly funny (his reaction to one young girl's "Dun dun duuuun" was priceless) and he clearly knew his stuff. Although I... More

A present from my kids, it was an enjoyable trip round London in a lovely old double decker bus. The two actors were good and made the trip enjoyable. Not to be taken seriously, it's a good hour of fun, driving round London which I would recommend for the price.

It was a bit cheesy and not that funny. The two actors on board tried their best but overall it just was not very ghostly, gripping or entertaining.

We booked this as part of a fun day out in London. The female bus conductor, who had obviously done this loads of times before, made this trip hilarious. A great mix of fact and fun, the narrative was funny and faultless. Great as a factual tour as well as a bit of fun. Would go again.

Staying in Trafalgar Square / Embankment

Neighborhood Profile
Trafalgar Square / Embankment
With its iconic Nelson’s Column, majestic oversized lions and brightly-lit fountains, Trafalgar Square is not just considered the heart of this bustling London hub, but the very core of the city itself. Beyond this esteemed gathering place are more famous icons, as well as a disproportionate numbers of the city’s most popular cultural attractions including the National Gallery and many West End theaters. Along the way to these major sites are quiet lanes and antiquated pubs to discover, as well as riverside vistas to enjoy on the embankment. With a calendar full of celebratory events, any time of year is a fine time to visit.
