We had another great tour with Matthew, this time on the East End tour. So many sites to see and a nice break in Brick Lane to grab some street food and do a spot of vintage shopping. The time flew by but we will be back next year to do another tour.

Arrived on Sunday morning to be met by Matthew who had bikes etc. all ready for us. He then took us off on the East End tour through Clerkenwell and on down alongside the Regents Park Canal and onto to Brick Lane and the Shoreditch area. We stopped for lunch in Exmouth Market where there is excellent street food and... More

We had a two hour tour of London with Matt, visiting the Rose Theatre, popular in the 1500's, the Borough Market and St. Katherine's Dock. Other places included the Mosely Mural (the Battle of Cable Street), Brick Lane market, Spitalfields Market and the memorial to self-sacrifice in Postman's Park, which also contains a plaque commemorating the inspiration of Rev.John Wesley.... We had a wonderful experience on Matt's tour. We had no trouble finding the meeting point, although we did our homework beforehand. We really enjoyed Matt's easygoing tour, it had the perfect mix of historical and cultural knowledge, as well as major sites and lesser known sites. Our favorite parts of the tour were definitely seeing and learning about the... More

Matthew is a wonderful tour guide. Expert at navigating Londons streets and lots of unique knowledge. His groups have a max of 10, but ours was even smaller. We may go back tomorrow for east tour. Try to fit this tour in!

I went on the Sights of London tour with Matt. It was a 2.5 hour tour, including a 30 minute stop at the Covent Garden market for food, shopping, and entertainment. Had a good time and would recommend to anyone comfortable riding a bike. Navigating the streets of London was not difficult and Matt gave clear signals where to stop... More

Myself, my three boys, and one of their friends, (boys all aged between 9 and 13) all really enjoyed our tour of London with Matthew as our guide...it was a great way to see London and we all learnt lots! Matthew got the balance between cycling, facts and stories just right.....the boys are still talking about the blind, hairless albino... More

Staying in City of London

Neighborhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighborhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighborhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
