Its very well done, good fun and very well choreographed. We loved it and so did the kids, however.....there is so much swearing (every swear word you can think of) that we were a bit shocked at first. Maybe that's how the miners really talked (and the kids?) but it seemed a bit over-exagerated to me. Its a nice little... More

An amazing cast bring this poignant story to life. It was a fabulous show. The atmosphere of the Victoria Palace Theater was great. We sat in the very back row in the uppermost balcony. The sound was fabulous and view great. The theater is old so leg room is a bit challenging...the only challenge of the night. Would highly recommend... More

Excellent production the cast were incredible but there was a lot of swearing in it not really for small children The scene from swan lake gave you goose pimples if only they had calmed down the swearing it would of been great

I've lost count of how many times we've seen this fantastic show. Set in northern England during the 1984/5 miners' strike, it tells a tale of the eponymous11-year-old would-be-ballet dancer from a working-class background. Performances of dance, including ballet and tap, to the accompaniment of some great songs and tunes, will amaze you - the boys performing the role of... More

First and foremost this is the best entertainment (TV, film or show) I have ever seen. It takes you on a emotional roller coaster that leaves you at the end yearning for more. As a 45 year old man from the north east of England, where the play is set (I did see one comment earlier about hard to understand... More

Having seen the film I did not expect the musical to surpass it. It did! Excellent choreography, first class acting. Very funny, sometimes sad and sometimes moving. Don't hesitate. Go and see it!

Very impressed, especially by the youngest dancers! I had already seen the film, and was waiting for some of the scenes I think were highlights in the story – but they never came. All the same, the ballet and dancing is the most important here, and so it’s absolutely well worth the time and money spent.

I came with little knowledge or context on the musical or the strike. I left thrilled with a new sense of the possibilities of music theatre. The colors were flying, sets changing, fog rolling, people moving intensely...with solid dancing, acting, and singing as well. The production quality was top notch, and the ending of "Once Were Kings" was incredibly powerful.... More
