Billy Elliot has been dazzling London's West End since 2005. Set in a mining town in the north of England during the 1984/'85 miners' strike, Billy Elliot is the inspirational story of a young boy's struggle against the odds to make his dream of becoming a dancer, not a boxer, come true.

This is the second time I have seen this show and for a second time I was delighted. What a performance from Ollie Jochim and of course the rest of the cast. Well worth seeing this show people, one of the best I have seen.

Really good musical Cast were fab, but Billy was outstanding, very talented. Only thing for those taking kids, there was quite a lot of swearing! but it was set in the north in a mining town- so was appropriate for the show. The whole cast were fab, Loved the boys dress scene, Billy's solo's were fantastic and the miners played... More

Well where to start. I went this weekend (21st March 2015) to London to celebrate my 1st wedding anniversary with my wife. I had looked at the reviews written on Tripadvisor regarding the best show to take in during our trip. I have seen quite a lot of the shows in the London West End and was a bit indecisive... More

An excellent musical depicting the miners struggle in 1980's and young Billy Elliott desire to be a ballet dancer. Thomas Hazelby the new BilyElliott was fantastic. We went to the Thursday matinee. The highlight being young Billy mirrored with the older Bily was very special. A must see.

I saw the Billy Elliot last night and loved every second of it. I wasn't sure what to expect as I'm not a huge fan of the film but it was fantastic. The actors must work so hard as they were all brilliant. The boy who played Billy Elliot is amazingly talented and his dancing actually made me cry. My favourite... More

I saw the show on Friday 13th March 2015. It was Thomas Hazelby's second ever performance as Billy and I - unbeknownst until the end - sat next to Thomas's granddad, Ken. What a lovely bloke. And Thomas was amazing - never seen anything like it. Nathan Jones, who played Michael, was also absolutely fantastic. Go and see this show... More

My self and my husband went to see Billy elliott as a wedding anniversary treat. The show was amazing all of the young children ( especially the boys that played micheal and Billy were brilliant) The dancing from (Bradley who played Billy on the day) blew us away and the comedy acting from micheal was so professional for a child so... This is truly one of the great shows that will live with you forever, just like the real life background story it depicts, if you remember the 70's you'll remember how bleak this period was and the writers and set makers have captured that wonderfully but that is what makes it great,it takes a true downcast story and turns it... The show was even better than expected. It is completely different to the usual musicals, with big well known songs. The dancing is what you go for, it was excellent. The show was also extremely funny. We had been forewarned about the bad language, but did not find this offensive, as it was in context with the people involved, namely... More

Staying in Westminster

Neighborhood Profile
Westminster
If you only had an afternoon to experience London on a grand scale, Westminster would be a wise place to start. The ornate Houses of Parliament and Westminster Abbey sit adjacent at a corner of Parliament Square, and a short stroll along The Mall leads to Buckingham Palace. Trafalgar Square and Nelson's Column are just up the road as well. As captivating as the architecture is, the wonders of Mother Nature are highlights of the area too. St James's Park (arguably London's loveliest), the expansive Green Park, and pedestrian friendly tree lined paths along the river showcase the exquisite manicure provided by English gardeners. Just beyond the landmarks and the gorgeous outdoor spaces, quiet residential squares and age old local pubs offer a more subdued take on this global seat of power in the heart of London.
