Billy Elliot has been dazzling London's West End since 2005. Set in a mining town in the north of England during the 1984/'85 miners' strike, Billy Elliot is the inspirational story of a young boy's struggle against the odds to make his dream of becoming a dancer, not a boxer, come true.

I have to agree with so many of the previous reviews, this production is amazing. This is my second visit, the last time was 4 years ago. Yet I cried, laughed out loud, roller coaster of emotions in a few hours' real feel good production. Not sure how the actors/actresses was able to sing, tap dance, ballet dance, tell jokes,... More

Wow, what a fantastic show.It has it all. I laughed, I cried, I sang along. A very powerful and gritty show that captures the emotions of the time perfectly. Strong language from the off .

Fantastic show. Felt tired just watching Billy dance! Theatre could do with a refurb but maybe that's the charm?

What a great show full of surprises, great performances and songs. I would say it should have a 12 rating as there is a lot of bad language just about every swear word apart from 1.

this show has it all, comedy, sadness, song, dance and a lovely story line. The performers were outstanding especially the actors who played the parts of billy and Michael. We left the auditorium with a lovely feeling at the end of the show. The auditorium itself is magnificent and there was plenty of leg room in the stalls. We were... More

Really enjoyed this show - didn't want it to end. The children in it were amazing so funny. Don't usually like to go and see things twice but I think this is one show that I wouldn't mind seeing again.

I cannot even express how amazing this show is to watch. I laughed, cried...well, got a tear, and sat dumbfounded as I tried to understand some of the accents. That did not last too long and basically just in the beginning. After the slow start you pulled into the performance. I have seen probably a hundred or so shows in... More

This was booked as a Birthday treat, as I had seen the film I wasn't sure about the musical but I was very impressed, the scene changes were very cleverly done, the singing, dancing and acting very good, I laughed and cried and as I am from the North East of England made it a bit more special.

Staying in Westminster

Neighborhood Profile
Westminster
If you only had an afternoon to experience London on a grand scale, Westminster would be a wise place to start. The ornate Houses of Parliament and Westminster Abbey sit adjacent at a corner of Parliament Square, and a short stroll along The Mall leads to Buckingham Palace. Trafalgar Square and Nelson's Column are just up the road as well. As captivating as the architecture is, the wonders of Mother Nature are highlights of the area too. St James's Park (arguably London's loveliest), the expansive Green Park, and pedestrian friendly tree lined paths along the river showcase the exquisite manicure provided by English gardeners. Just beyond the landmarks and the gorgeous outdoor spaces, quiet residential squares and age old local pubs offer a more subdued take on this global seat of power in the heart of London.
