Enjoyed several visits to formby beach, I'd only advise going during a weekday though as during a summers day at the weekend you won't be able to move.

This is a nice long beach with plenty of walks either on the beach or the sand dunes, it is well kept and there is a lot of wild life to enjoy, can be a brilliant place for a walk in all types of weather

Brilliant if you want to park over people's drives like mine and leave your dirty nappies and cans all over the beach and paths

Nice big beach with fantastic sand dunes and shrubbery. It is clean and well respected by its visitors. Good for young and old people. The squirrel woods are near by too with a chance to see a rare red squirrel. Come here as soon as you can before there are non left.

Superb, fabulous beach environment, great parking, one of the best beaches in the country. The sand dunes are just as you imagine sand dunes to be. really well worth a visit. You can see why some of Liverpool football players live within a very close proximity

My children get frustrated with the battery life on their phones, they can't reach a level on the xbox, the tv only part recorded a programme. 5 hours we spent on the beach without a single complaint (except time to come home). As a national trust member it was free. Lovely clean beach, the sand is perfect for sandcastles with... More

We came for a drive over from Sheffield and it was well worth the 2 hour travel. Being from NZ I instantly felt transported home as Formby beach on this grand day was in fine form. The sand, dunes and beautiful blue sky made for a fabulous afternoon strolling down the shore line. Nice to have some lagoon water to... More

went to formby pinewoods yesterday, its a national trust site and they really look after it, the new picnic area near squirrel wood is brilliant, and my 2 year old daughter loved it, i must say we dont own a dog, but all the dogs that we seen were well behaved, they only insist on dogs being on a lead... Went to Formby beach and sand dunes today. One of the most beautiful beaches I have ever been to fantastic powdery sand dunes, lovely pine forests and a very rugged coast line. Well worth the two hour ride from the Peak District !! Now back at home with a glass of wine and a very tired dog.

Best beach for miles. Plenty of space for everyone. Remember to visit the squirrels. National Trust working hard to clear the rubble that was dumped years ago, other than that, a perfect place.
