This is another National Trust Gem , we visited on a Sunday at the end of our trip around Northern England, the house is superb and makes for some fantastic photo opportunity'from the well laid out gardens, the volunteers in the rooms were very informative and there is the usual well stocked shop and large cafe on site,we had a... We came to the vintage festival on the Saturday. We arrived late afternoon and there was a few cars waiting to park. The ranger was directing people but when he got to our car he stopped to talk on his mobile phone and turned his back on us. Rude. The vintage festival was good, we bought some lovely cakes and... I recently visited Speke Hall and had a very enjoyable afternoon helped by the friendly and informative staff. It's quite some years since I've visited, but the house doesn't disappoint and the grounds are beautiful. The visitor reception staff were extremely helpful and were also helpful in providing information about other visitor attractions in Liverpool.

the new maze is great for kids and adults alike. we rarely go into the House / Hall but there's plenty of history about the place. large cafe / eating area and the gardens are always well maintained.

A very interesting place. It is a National Trust place and so free to members. The attractive historic timber framed house has an interesting history and superb interior. It is hidden away near an industrial estate and airport, with extensive parkland to walk around. There is also the chance to walk along part of the Mersey Estuary and to see... More

Great place for young and old, with loads to do and see. Steeped with history, walks, areas to sit, chill and play. Allow at least 3 hours to explore and bring a picnic. Even watch the planes coming and going from Liverpool airport.

Get a day our for family. Especially enjoyed trying out the maze and finding the red flag at the end. Wasn't as easy a it looked! Lots of grounds to walk about and as always was very well maintained. Had a bite to eat in the cafe and food was good but VERY slow service! All in all a good... More

Visited here with my Mother, my wife and my two adult children and spent £70 for a coffee each and a 35 minute rushed tour of the house. I asked why I had to pay 10% extra to 'gift-aid' my payment and received a very condescending reply from an NT staff member who obviously thought she was doing me a... More

We spent virtually a whole day at this wonderful house. The gardens are quite small but still full of interest. The house itself is fascinating and the guides were approachable and extremely helpful. The restaurant was much better than most other National Trust eateries. We did the coastal walk, or we tried to, because we got thoroughly lost due to... More
