An interesting visit, the history of the Tudor hall goes back some 500 years. Top marks to the voluntary staff who gave some fascinating detail about those who lived there and where some of our present day sayings and habits came from. Very interesting house with excellent guide but grounds rather limited. We travelled out by bus which involved a 20 minute walk at Speke

We visited on Bank Holiday Monday for the May Day Tudor Festival. We visited on a very hot May Day Bank Holiday . Wonderful atmosphere with morris dancers and tents with food and tudor style music. It was extremely busy and we had to queue to get into the building but once inside because of the size and amount to walk around the crowds were not too bad. Very interesting with information... Absolutely beautiful gardens and views! Nice staff who were happy to help, good play area for children too. Definitely recommend as a nice summer day out!

A beautiful building seeping in history with links to William Morris, Rossetti and other artists. The gardens were disappointing although any Monkey puzzle enthusiasts would enjoy their collection.
