Speke Hall is well worth a visit. The house is very interesting. the cafe has improved. The maze is getting taller. They have done so much with the walks - can now get down to the river. In Spring the drive is one mass of daffodils and when the bluebells are out it's beautiful. They've also got a lot of... More

Speke Hall seems to be one of the less well-known National Trust properties and also doesn't feature in the list of top attractions in Liverpool. I don't know why! It's a great place to visit - the house is very historic and interesting inside and the gardens are lovely...though it's true the grounds are not as large or impressive as... More

As a local I find the entrance cost prohibitive, paid £16 for three adults to walk around the gardens only, which are fine but not spectacular,, add to that the cost of entrance to the Hall.. too expensive, I would love to visit more often but cant afford it, one good thing was the buggy lift from the car park... We thouroughly enjoyed the traditional christmas fayre (all 11 of us from 4 years old to 60 years old) and the father christmas was brilliant-very good at engaging with the children! The staff looked lovely all dressed up-we also enjoyed doing the small extra activities eg making sugar mice! Fab!!

Having not visited in many years, I had a fantastic day out there! Building was beautiful and it was free flow Tuesday which meant we could take our time exploring. Guides in every room answered any questions we had in a friendly and informative way. Food in the cafe was delicious and there was some good walks around the grounds.... More

As National Trust members we decided to visit Speke Hall while staying in Warrington and on our way to the Maritime Museum in Albert Dock. The two can be easily combined to make a great day out. Speke Hall and the beautiful gardens are a delight and if you happen to have some youngsters looking to let off steam there is... More

Today, my family and I visited Speke Hall. The staff were really informative and approachable, especially with regards to the hall itself. The cafe was well stocked with good for all diets (including gluten-free). Fantastic value for money and plenty to fill the whole day! I would highly recommend a visit to Speke Hall.

Amazing hall built in 1500s with later additions, Superb grounds, (free) guide dressed in tudor attire who was very interesting. Room guides were very informative. 1800s furniture in some of the rooms whilst very well preserved/ looked after/ authentic spoilt the ambience for me (but that is just my personal opinion and should not detract from the fact that it... We popped in hear on our way to Liverpool and it is well worth the visit. It looks like you are driving to an industrial area then you get to the property. Large car park and wonderful grounds and gardens with long walks by the estuaray. Right next to the airport so there is some occasional noise. House impressive with... More
