Easily accessible Speke Hall is a hidden gem on the Mersey shoreland although situated close to Liverpool airport and lots of shops and businesses. The volunteers deserve first mention for knowledge and passion about the Family history and love of Liverpool. I loved the tudor beams and courtyard and the great halls and dark oak panelled rooms plus gardens. Lovely... More

Having visited all the nearby properties, we had to go further afield and made an excellent choice in Speke Hall. The hall is one of the best properties I have seen. We were lucky enough to arrive in time for a Tudor tour. Vera the guide was very knowledgeable and a little humorous. She took time with some children, involving... More

Visited Speke hall today with a 5 year old and a 3 year old. Wasn't really too sure what to expect as we'd never been here before and the fact that We had a five year old and a three year old and was attempting to take them into a house of historical importance, was slightly daunting. I can honestly... More

Fabulous day out. I go often and take visitors (family) from abroad. Love the history of the house and the guides are very informative. I also love the ghost story's.The grounds are beautiful for picnics and walks and for children they can watch the planes coming in and out. Nice historical link to the Child Of Hale and Hale Village... More

We visited Speke over the weekend and have never met such unfriendly staff. I don't normally complain but I simply can't tolerate rudeness and don't appreciate being tutted at for complaining of a lack of toilet paper in the toilets! To be fair to the ladies and gents working in the house, they were very friendly and welcoming, the rest... More

I visited Speke Hall this afternoon with my family 8 adults and 5 kids. We started with a trip round the Hall where the kids completed Metal Mickeys Mysteries where the staff went out there way to help and involve the children. Then we went to the Home Farm Restaurant and had lunch Potato and Leek Soup, Scouse, Pan Haggarty,... More

Having just returned home from my third visit to Speke Hall since the opening day 2015 (National Trust member) with my granddaughters on a visit from Cumbria. The house and formal gardens as always wonderful. However, most of the paid staff especially in tea rooms and restaurant were very sullen (not a good image for the Trust). The courtyard on... More
