Gardens ok, nothing to shout about in comparison to other NT properties, but the building itself is fascinating, with some of the friendliest volunteers to be found at any of... More

It's a lovely and interesting old building and generally has plenty of warm and friendly staff to guide you. The history is fascinating and the grounds lovely. Our visit was December and with a festive feel but this exposed the limitations of the venue - it is small and cannot cope with large volumes of people. Fine in summer but... More

Fantastic insight in to how they used to live. You walk through at your own pace and there are stewards in each room who are happy to answer any questions. You can go on the Beatles tour of houses from here

What a marvellous Tudor house, such an atmosphere of days gone by.The volunteers have an immense knowledge of its past including the ghost stories ! I found out where the term eavesdropping was derived from. The servants would sit in the eaves above the front door and listen to visitors conversations before letting them in. Will definitely visit again there... More

We have visited Speke Hall many times - its such a beautiful house and gardens - but booked to go on one of the the Ghost Tour of the house (lasts about 1hr 30 mins) Evening was great fun - as long as you like very dark rooms, candlelight and great atmosphere created by the guide. Only 15 people per... More
