Arrived at the pub outside to be told that the brewery had closed. We had neither received notification nor a refund for our tour. The owners redeemed themselves in part for keeping the pub attached to the brewery open with its beautiful period features although once the excellent beer has gone, it will be selling other people's beer which will... I went here thinking it would be good food but alas no. I ordered a sirloin steak medium cooked when it came on the plate were three overcooked tomato slices and loads of chips no salad or veg. The steak was not cooked evenly throughout and I did choke a bit on it as it was not that tender. The... More

Went round this Brewery with a group! The tour guide was knowledgable and humorous! The cost of £5.99 was decent value which included a pint in the brewery pub next door the beer was excellent! Highly recommended!

Took the Cain's Brewery Tour on a Saturday afternoon. We started off in the pub attached to the brewery called the Brewery Tap. Fantastic old Liverpudlian pub - they certainly don't make them like that anymore! Had a pint while we waited (Cain's of course as that's all they sell) and waited for the rest of the tour party. Our... More

We went as part of our Works Christmas night out. If your idea of a brewery tour is walking around a dark, deserted empty warehouse, this may be for you. We walked up and down about a thousand steps, not to encounter any part or process of beer being processed. The tour guide was the only redeeming feature of a night... More

had a great tour, guide was informative and quite funny at times, also very helpful. good pint at the end. really enjoyed visit. only problem would be, there are quite a lot of steps to climb and no lift. its a really old building with character. well worth the fee.

The intimate nature of the tour makes you feel like you are seeing a behind the scenes glimpse not only into the past and how brewing was in the old days but also how the business has evolved - I would describe it as Charlie and The Chocolate Factory tour for grown up's! The tour guide was essentially the crucial... More

As already stated by others - the tour guide does his best under the circumstances - how it can be 23 out of 33 amazes me - should be in the 30s - although we had a walkthough the brewing process from start to end- but nothing was running on our tour - so really £8 for a walk around... More

Fundamentally this is a tour around a Victorian era brewery that has been somewhat modernised to allow for modern production methods but fundamentally it is a dusty old Victorian building that has seen some far better days. That not withstanding the tour guide we had really knew his stuff and gave us a great tour round the site explaining not... More
