I love the Bluecoat - it's right in the centre of Liverpool, a great stop whilst shopping and a great arts venue too. The Whistler exhibition that's on at the moment is a bit boring, however they usually put on really good shows (entrance is free). The café on the ground floor is a gem - very nice sandwiches and... A great location - a good gallery - some good arty shops and an excellent cafe. Doesnt look remarkable - just neat and tidy, but it serves great coffee and very good tasty wholesome food and thats what matters. The staff are excellent and caring!

Gallery plus cafe plus shop in this complex, set in a really nice environment in the midst of a shopping area. Brilliant Whistler exhibition on when I was there.

The Bluecoat is a little gem tucked away in the heart of Liverpool city centre, yet it's hidden in full view of Lord Street with its busy shops and even busier shoppers. It's so lovely and so atmospheric - whether you're part of a tour or just pop in for a breath of fresh air in the delightful courtyard garden,... More

The Bluecoat is a site that includes shops, gallery displays, a wonderful garden, coffee shop, and outstanding exhibits. When I was there, they were featuring an exhibit of Whistler's work. Besides the shops held by friendly and enthusiastic artisans, there is a charming cafe and a flower filled garden area to relax and eat in. Some parents had brought their... More

The Bluecoat is an interesting venue for any modern art offichonaro visiting Liverpool. The collection is very avantgarde and certainly not to everyone's choice. However well worth a expedition?

A really interesting tour of Liverpool with two very knowledgeable guides. Even though I have lived in Liverpool for a number of years they pointed out things which I had never noticed before (even though I pass them nearly every day!) A very enjoyable way to spend an afternoon and I will sign up for the next one!

Excellent. Informative and illuminating. A tour that will teach you to " look up" and "look down" as you walk around Liverpool - revealing hidden parts of Liverpool's heritage. Thoroughly enjoyable. A tour that everyone who loves Liverpool should do once!

We have been on a Bluecoat free walking tour of Liverpool. Our guides Joan and Arthur were very friendly and knowledgeable. They took their time to explain hidden details of the city to us and although we are from Liverpool we still learned a lot and it made you appreciate the city from a different viewpoint. The only down side... More
