The Grapes has changed dramatically over the years since the Fab Four would pass time here taking the odd pint of Higsons. No Higsons bitter or mild now of course, and I rather doubt if anybody from the 60s would fail to notice that the inside of the pub has changed greatly. The beer however is still very good.

Had to be tasted in order to realise was bitter not beer. He went on to tell us how there are lots of beers and if we... More

A great pub which is very cheap - I had to ask if they had not undercharged me. Good quality beer and nice staff

The barman carried on a conversation with a customer while serving me, no eye contact at all this is... More

We were heading to the Cavern when we read a plaque on the wall outside the Grapes and decided to go in. The atmosphere was great and the singer was very good. It clearly lives on its past connection with the Beatles but would not have missed it. The "bouncer" we encounted was very helpful.

I stepped outside for a cigarette and was having jokes with one door man, when a vile man with glasses approached me calling me a lesbian and a tramp. His attitude was disgraceful and because I did not just stand there and take it he said... More
