The entire commentary and guided tour along the Mersey river is worth a shot! It's a very authentic experience and leaves you wanting for just a little more than the 50 minutes duration that it lasts for.

Did the 50 minute round trip on the ferry. You can hop on and off if you like. Has great views of the Mersey and the commentary would have been good if it hadn't been so windy. Just one tip for the organisers, please play all of the song!

Just to take the 'Ferry Cross The Mersey' would be enough, but the friendly staff and insightful commentary on the 50-minute round-trip make this a really good overview of the city and its surrounds. It feels as if it hasn't changed much since the sixties, which just adds to the sense of authenticity.

Being a local i take for granted how good an experience this river crossing is. If your visiting Liverpool on holiday you really should do this very iconic Merseyside tourist attraction. If your using Liverpool's public transport system get your self an ALL ZONES TICKET,which will give you travel on all forms of merseyside public transport including the ferry boats... More

Well worth a trip across the Mersey on the famous ferry. Great way to view both the Liverpool and Birkenhead sides from a different angle as long as the weather is OK. I'd guess that it could be unpleasant on a really bad day!

I grew up in Liverpool but live in Scotland now. I visited at the weekend with my fella who's never been to Liverpool before! We had a great day being tourists and one of the highlights was taking the 50 minute round trip from the Pier Head. It was a lovely sunny afternoon and we had great views of the... More

Spent a few days in Liverpool last week to celebrate my friend's 50th birthday and we had decided beforehand that a must do was The Mersey ferry, luckily for us it was a five minute walk from our hotel, not so luckily for us the weather was atrocious, gale force winds and an extremely choppy Mersey, not deterred we carried... Setting off across the Mersey to the well known tune 'Ferry across the Mersey' a lump came into my throat. This is a must do thing if you are visiting Liverpool. The ferry runs a commercial commuter service in the morning and evening for the locals but we went on the 50 minute trip up the Mersey with a commentary... More

Did this as a joint ticket with beatles museum. Really enjoyed the ferry the commentary is informative and interesting. We stayed on and did the round trip but you could get on and off at each stop to see various museums and tourist attractions but we didn't have time. There is a cafe on board which did a lovely hot... More

If you can put up with "Ferry cross the Mersey" from Gerry and his Pacemakers playing incessantly this is a trip well worth taking. It gives you a great view of the city skyline and the tour guide gives several gems of information about what you are seeing.
