An enjoyable ferry ride providing wonderful views of Liverpool and the Wirral coastline. We each must do this journey as the nostalgic song rings in your ears, rekindling memories of the swinging sixties for us older folk. Each port of call offers the exiting experience of exploring The Spaceport, The U Boat Story and The Albert Dock and treasures beyond.... More

Chose the river explorer cruise and spent a lovely hour on the top deck of the ferry watching the beautiful Liverpool skyline going by.Very informative commentary whilst on ferry told you the history of the different areas. You can get off at Seacombe and Woodside then return on the next ferry.A very enjoyable trip.

It was one of the things you have to do while in Liverpool if you were a child of the sixties. It's only a 50 minute trip but well worth it. The captain provides fascinating and informative commentary on the history of the docks and the views are fantastic.

The ferry has been operating in Liverpool for countless years. This is not just a quick trip across the Mersey but a tour a round trip lasts 50 mins there are refreshments available on board. While traveling down the Mersey you are told what the buildings are and what they were used for. Some of the buildings you would not... More

Was okay for something to do with a spare hour or so in our afternoon and let us see Liverpool from a different angel (the water) and it was good to go on the famous Mersey Ferry but it wasn't brilliant by any standards still okay though.

The river boat trip on the Mersey Ferry was very good value and informative about the history of the Port. The journey lasted about an hour and explained about not only the port of Liverpool but also the Wirral on the opposite side of the river. This included history from how the docks came to be, how they survived and... More

We did the 50 min trip which went to the other side of the Mersey. The views were fantastic and the commentary during the trip was fascinating. They even played a little bit of Gerry and the Pacemakers Ferry Cross the Mersey which brought back happy memories form the sixties. This is well worth a trip especially if its a nice day when... I always tell my friends to try the ferry across the Mersey, it's an experience you will never forget. It brings back childhood memories of trips to New Brighton for a day out with my Dad. I can still see the people pouring off the ferry to start their working day on this side of the river. It's a great... More

6 hours of fascinating scenery , locks and bridges. We had great commentary from Sylvia, a Blue Badge Guide who gave us information on the industrial history of the Canal , the geography and local wildlife and the exciting new developments happening now and planned for the future. The weather was dry and the staff helpful and friendly. The food... More

We recently did this trip but were rather disappointed - a Mersey ferry designed for transporting commuters across the River Mersey is not an appropriate vessel for this trip. It's a six hour trip down the Manchester ship canal and cost just short of £40 each. There is a live commentary but when the engines were revving we couldn't really... More
