First time in Liverpool so had to do all the touristy things and a trip on the Mersey Ferry was top of the list. I was not disappointed! Managed to set a seat on the upper deck right at the front and had amazing views. The commentary picking out landmarks was very informative and interesting. Well worth the £8.50 for... More

A ferry ride on the river Mersey is a must do when you come to Liverpool and yes they play the song. A day ticket lets you hop on and hop off at several places along the route where you will find other attactions or you can just stay aboard for the round trip. Warning can be a bit cold... More

Definitely a must do if your in Liverpool for the weekend. The splendid views of the Liverpool waterfront justifies the Mersey ferry cruise, but to make it even more memorable there is constant information playing over the speakers about the sights you are viewing. There is also a comic element to the factual content being relayed. I would definitely do it... More

No trip to Liverpool would be complete without a ferry across the Mersey, you all know it's importance so I'll not bore you anymore than I need to lol... I've done it a few times and I'd recommend you do it in good weather!

The view of the Liverpool waterfront alone justifies the Mersey ferry cruise, but to make it even more memorable there is constant information playing over the speakers about the sights you are viewing. Certainly a relaxing and memorable way to spend an hour in Liverpool.

The trip is interesting, the docks area looks quite different from the water so it's worth doing. But we could hardly hear a word of the commentary - perhaps we were in the wrong part of the ferry, but there was a speaker quite near to us - surely something can be done to make it audible to everyone. It... More

My father and I took the ferry on a recent trip to Liverpool. It was a rainy, overcast day, which made the hour-long ferry ride a bit tedious and dreary. It has nice views of the city skyline but it's just a ferry ride - there's not much else to do but look outside. Probably better on a nicer day!

I was very excited about my break to Liverpool and knew that my visit wouldn't be complete without a trip on a ferry across the Mersey! We did a round trip and thought it wasn't bad for £8.50 each. Pleasant journey, good commentary and of course a few snippets of the song :)

We did this because if you visit Liverpool, I suppose you have to. It's a pleasant trip, with good views of the city from the river, but it's a bit expensive, in my opinion. Me and two kids cost almost £20. I could get to France and back for that..... You leave Pier Head, and then make two stops on... More
