This is a relatively small collection, although very varied. The admission was free and there were some interesting exhibits

I'm a local and keep my eyes open for any new exhibitions that I can check out. The Collection and neighboring Usher gallery are always putting on something new and interesting to see and discover. The staff are superb; friendly, accommodating and very knowledgeable. 3 pluses...a nearby car park, free entry and a good coffee shop with excellent snacks!

Both the Museum and the Usher Gallery are worth visiting - some interesting exhibits and collections, although it could be more interactive.

M and I love museums and were probably the first people through the door at the Usher Gallery on Sunday morning as we were so keen that it had only just opened. Two friendly ladies on the reception desk outlined what was where and made us feel very welcome. The main collection of clocks, ceramics, and artworks, including those left... More

Freecadmission to this museum means taht we visit regularly to see the permanent exhibits and also visiting exhibits. They have a cinema and a really good shop and cafe. The staff are always helpful and polite and there are some really fascinating and surprising items to discover as well as lots of interactive displays and activities to keep the kids... More

Loved the collection, compact and very informative with a range of pieces throughout the ages and browsed for a long time, great cafe as well. usher gallery a let down, some great ceramics and pocket watches but the modern art in many rooms is just bizarre and not to my liking. both free so should not complain.

We both liked the collection more than the gallery but everyone to their own. All the history of Lincoln was very interesting and free as well.

Usher Gallery is a lovely building with some beautiful art work and collections. However, I'm pretty sure that the original benefactor himself and subsequent ones would never have entertained some of the modern "art" that has found its way in there, most of which showed little artistic talent. The adjacent explanations of what had inspired the "artists" to create such... More

This is a favourite of ours. We come here often with a 1 year old and did so when our boy now seven was of a similar age. It has a wonderful play area for under 3s, great cafe with fab food and plenty to keep them amused in the main exhibit.
