The Usher Gallery was everything a gallery should be - intimate and full of information. The Collection was awe inspiring and well worth a further visit to read all the information available. Both venues are free and well worth multiple visits.

Top quality exhibits & really well laid-out design. Fantastic value for money! It's free. This is 2 venues really; the traditional building of the Usher Gallery and the modern Collection. Put it high on your 'must see' list for Lincoln.

It's years and years since we visited the Usher gallery so we were really looking forward to our visit, but first went into 'The Collection'which is an exhibition of archaeological finds, beautifully presented in a purpose-built gallery. This was absolutely fascinating and definitely worth the visit. I wish I could say the same for the gallery, which was a huge... More

The old Usher Gallery has new addition next door called "The Collection". It is situated at the foot of the hill overseen by the great Cathedral. Spacious galleries house some interesting items. Highlights of the Usher include the LS Lowery painting of Lincoln (upstairs, hidden in a corridor on the left), a portrait head by Epstein, and a vase by... More

I have visited this Museum twice and live all the exhibits. The are interactive things for children to gain their interest in archaeology . For little ones there is a play area & a good quality cafe & it's free.

We only had time to visit the Collection (archaeology and the Joseph Banks exhibition) but were impressed both by the exhibitions and the fabulous modern building. Next visit (soon, hopefully) we will return to visit the art gallery.

Will definitely be revisiting. Been to York recently & felt this venue was as good as anything up there. They promote live music events too plus playing... More

I went specifically to view the modern masters exhibition and this is the first time I've been in the usher for about 20 years when all I recalled was clocks, clocks and more clocks. The entrance has moved to the side, adjacent to the collection and is now free entry. I made eye contact with the young lady on the... More

How brilliant that such amazing facilities are free! The Modern Masters show in the Usher was great, I can't believe that it wasn't busier, what an opportunity. Next door the Sir Joseph Banks exhibition was so interesting and what a lovely setting. These buildings are a huge asset to the city, looking up at the Cathedral and also close to... More
