The Usher Gallery houses a wide variety of art (painting, sculpture, decorative arts), clocks/watches, porcelain and more; while the Collection takes you on a tour of Lincolnshire through the ages--from Stone Age, Roman, Anglo-Saxon to the English Civil War--and a bit more.. You will discover a wide variety of finds, laid out in an accessible way. There are also interactive... More

Look out for their family events in school holidays. The staff are fun and knowledgable - they provide well organised and engaging activities. Craft activities often include a small fee, but you can easily spend a whole morning there enjoying the museum. Stokes cafe on site is also nice.

We have enjoyed many a visit to The Collection in Lincoln. There are a variety of activities for the children including many opportunities to dress up and a chance to complete some oversized coin rubbings.

Well worth a visit - good displays for adults and children - we didn't have children with us but there were lots of children there of all ages having a great time dressing up, making things - also safe for children. No charge for entry - shop items sensibly priced. Recommended.

This collection is composed of so many things, from miniatures to paintings, china and sculptures, clocks and engravings, that you simply cannot find nothing to appreciate. It's like walking into Ali Baba's cavern!

We only managed to see the Usher art gallery because of time constraints on the day. We were really impressed with the art collection and the grounds also (ideal spot for a pit stop with the kids- lots of grass and benches). The staff in the reception spoke to us about some of the collection and were really informative. Well... More

Good for children, plenty of interaction and hands on for children. Clear and uncluttered displays with sufficient but not overwhelming information. Recommended for families and above all it is free.

This is the second time I have visited this childrens section with my grand daughter who is just under 2yrs. It is terrific for her. There is a gate to get in so that young children can't get out. Then once inside there are all sorts of toys for young children. They can also dress up and there is a... More

Excellent cup of coffee & nice selection of nibbles and light bites. A little difficult to hear our table's conversation at times as the acoustics mean that it can get rather noisy. Nice light & airy room and lovely to be able to sit out in warm weather.

Really good museum that encourages interaction with a lot of the displays. Good range of subject matter well presented in a nice modern well designed building. I found the Usher Gallery quite interesting especially the collection of Stubbs paintings. However, the place is much more like an old fashioned museum and my nine year old daughter quickly lost interest, so... More
