We have had visits to see a variety of lectures on Roman Emperors. The talks are delivered by a very knowlegable young man, he looks about 18 but I'm guessing he is older than that, he brings life to his subject with his enthusiasm. Cant wait for the next series.

From the outside this building is imposing and therefore jammed full of all aspects of Lincoln and Lincolnshire history. It isn't. There is a lot a wasted space that they have tried to fill without any purpose. The actual exhibits room is very small and houses very few artifacts of real interest. A few shards of Roman pottery, a few... More

The Collection was a lovely building and very busy. The Usher Art gallery was very short on patrons and art! It felt like a series of empty rooms. I would expect a city as historical as Lincoln to have accumulated a lot of art but that really wasn't apparent at all. What surprised me most was that the painting of... More

The museum and art gallery had a great coffee shop and gift shop and the exhibitions were great that were often but it looked a bit bare.

We love The Collection and Usher Gallery. There is a great selection of exhibitions, artefacts and special events to appeal to every age. Children are made very welcome and the free activities available provide entertainment for little ones in a relaxed atmosphere that parents appreciate. The café offers good refreshments at acceptable prices.

The collection was a surprise. Expecting the usual tedious experience we were presented with a fine modern building with exceptionally well designed and interesting exhibits based on a timeline history of Lincoln. Great cafe bar too. And did I mention it was free too. If you have a couple of hours free try it.

I only visited The Collection side. It was a lovely place, with a nice timeline layout of the history of Lincolnshire. There are a lot of places where kids and adults can interact with the exhibits which really helps to bring to life the history. The only negative I can think of for The Collection was the prices in the... More

I visited this museum with my brother-in-law who was on holiday from the US. We had been to the castle and the tour guide suggested we also visit the Collection. Although I had been in the area numerous times I had never thought to visit. It proved to be one of the most interesting museums I have ever visited. Filled... More

Having visited Lincoln during the busiest time of its year (Christmas Market), we found this museum to be an oasis of peace in the rush. The exhibits are well maintained and informative but the museum is situated in a small building so it's probably not best to visit the City simply for this attraction but to make it part of... More

I took time out from the Lincoln Christmas Market to visit the city's Usher Art Gallery. It was Sunday 7th December; I'm not sure if the Gallery is open on normal Sundays. (A Google search would give you opening hours.) This is a very smart building over the road from the museum. I enjoyed looking at Lowry's painting of Lincoln,... More
