I visited this stunning house and its inspirational gardens at the beginning of June. One of the first through the 'front door', I visited each room ahead of other visitors, and it was wonderful. The volunteers in each room were informative without being patronising. The furniture and painting are a delight. There are couple of surprises too, one the downstairs... More

We recently went around Doddington Hall for the first time, despite living only a few miles away! It is a wonderfully preserved and maintained Elizabethan manor house, but just lacked something.... Visitors are only allowed to view about half the house, as 'the family' still live in the other half. This means access to three virtually symmetrical floors, which, despite... More

Although we've visited for special occasions previously ie craft fayre, Saturday Sevens dinner, mus concert and dinner etc, which have been lovely, we made a special visit to go inside Doddington Hall. It's not a very big house, but quite interesting with a few lovely rooms with artefacts etc to view. The highlight for me was the gardens. As a... More

Doddington Hall and Gardens is a great place to visit. The grounds are beautiful and definitely worth walking around. The Hall and gardens are only open Wednesday, Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday but it is still worth the trip on other days to visit the farm shop, cafe and restaurant. There are various foodie events and special evening menus available... More

House only open Sundays, Wednesdays and Bank holiday Mondays from April to September. This is a really splendid house built in 1595 and remains a family home today. It is filled with fascinating collections of ceramics, paintings and textiles and currently (until 31 August 2015) features a quilt exhibition stitched by prisoners, soldiers, nuns and carers, called Voices from the inside,... Stayed in a cottage on the fabulous Doddington estate. Welcoming hosts, extraordinary historic Hall and garden, the current exhibition is original and inspiring, extremely comfortable, private cottage with wide views over the Lincolnshire and an excellent restaurant. Delicious, wholesome food that was good value. An idyllic break

My wife and I visited Doddington for the first time and were extremely impressed. The house is in good condition with lots of interesting paintings and furniture on display. There are laminated sheets giving full details of each. There are also regular tours. Although we did our own thing, Norman (the tour guide and pianist) gave us lots of interesting... More

We went with some friends to their vintage wkend. The displays etc were fun & interesting. We also tried the restaurant as opposed to the cafe. It was a disappointment in comparison to the cafe. The service was OK, but the main course of roast beef, being a Sunday was poor. It was not particularly easy to cut and lots... More
