We have been here many times and enjoyed the grounds, the free tours of the hall and the fantastic farm shop. We have enjoyed this place so much that we are getting married here next year! They are investing in so much more as well, so every time we go, we end up finding something new in the grounds.

The walled vegetable garden is well worth a visit. Some of the produce is used in the cafe. The food in the cafe is high quality with some local ingredients and the servic outstanding, I have eaten there several times and on the one occasion where I had cause to complain because the scrambled eggs were not up to standard... This was such a curious place! The grounds are absolutely stunning - lots of open spaces to walk, see and explore, and there was even a pyramid (which raised our eyebrows - it was certainly not a sight we were expecting to catch). Lots of people bring their dogs for walks in the area, and there are cows and horses... More

Parking is free and located in a small area near the shop and hall, but there is parking just over the road also. For disabled access into the hall we noted to it be tricky for a wheelchair user through the entrance. The hall is interesting and audio is available. The cafe serves a good variety of food, service was... More

Thank you very much for taking the time to review and we are glad you found the hall interesting. Just to pick up on one or two of your comments:- I can absolutely promise you that we never, ever use a microwave to heat our (home-made) soup - or any of our food. The hall is entered via a flight... More

Lovely gardens in spring time if a bit expensive to get in considering the size of the garden but we did make the most of them by walking out to the edge of the estate. a very good if busy farm shop and cafe with a good choice of food.

Doddington Hall and Gardens provide entertainment and interests for all visitors. The hall is a trip back in time and lots of interesting historical features. The gardens are well planted and just smell wonderful. The shop has local produce especially seasonal veg and fruit at value for money prices. You are also welcome to explore the local arts and crafts... More

Had a family wedding last weekend in the coach house with private walled gardens. Such a lovely backdrop to a fabulous wedding. The coordinators of the wedding were so lovely and all the staff were excellent. Couldn't fault it. Very well run throughout the day and they had the best day of their lives (as did we!). The gardens were... More

Got to be honest disappointed by the house and gardens, shop over priced and cafe as well. Got there just before 12 when hall opens, had a wander round the kitchen garden while we waited, rather scruffy in appearance and in need of some upkeep. House was ok but you only see about half and its again pretty run down... More

We appreciate reviews good and bad but when one such as yours seems to run against the trend of all the others here, we feel we do need to respond. Reading your comments we think that you may have missed seeing large chunks of the gardens and possibly the hall! All of our 7 acre gardens are open to the... More
