We went to Doddington Hall yesterday hoping to look around the house. I was taking an elderly friend who using a walking stick to see the Hall, we walked slowly towards the double gates which were open to read the signs, it was about 10.50, we were aware we couldn't enter until 11.00. An unsmiling, abrupt woman walked over to... More

Searching for unicorns in a lovely Elizabethan house in the Lincolnshire countryside is a wonderful way to spend an afternoon. You can do just that at Doddington Hall near Lincoln. You can hunt for acorns inside the house as well. It’s a place with a lot of fascinating history that dates back around 400 years. The house is packed with... More

Thank you for taking the time to post your review on Trip Advisor. We are glad that you enjoyed the house, shops and our guides. I am sorry that you found the gardens so disappointing. We have various highlights throughout the year including our Spring Bulb pageant, from February to April, our Irises and herbaceous borders in the West garden... More

We've been visiting Doddington for a number of years, remember the cake tasting days with fond memories. We visited in May - on a wet Saturday with my 96 year old father. He loves his fish and chips,- at that age does it matter! Needless to say he thoroughly enjoyed his meal, as did we. The staff are friendly -... More

We went along to see the gardens but also visited the house, spent a bout 5 hours wandering around. The House is well worth a visit, we used the "audio guide", which is free and I would recommend using it, as it takes you round the house and explains the various changes that happened to the house over the time... It's lovely to see at any time, but visit at Xmas, it had a bauble barn, selling everything you could want for your Christmas tree, plus fresh Xmas trees as well, it's lovely

We called in here as I had seen Doddington Hall on TV some time ago. Didn't visit the gardens or hall but was very impressed with the farm shop and restaurant plus the other retail outlets. We were so impressed we actually returned the next day for lunch - taking us quite a bit out of our way and we... More

Spent a pleasant 5 hours here over the Bank Holiday. Started by looking around a Vintage Fair which was on at the time, then wandered through the Farm Shop, before looking around the Kitchen Garden, Grounds and finally the Hall. Worth going to the Farm Shop in its own right.
