A lovely building with an interesting history but the faded interiors only serve to highlight what a huge responsibility it must be to inherit such a thing. The audio guide is delivered in the form of a narrative by actors performing the roles of previous inhabitants, I would have preferred a simple description of what I was looking at. It... More

The staff are very helpful The food is very good and ingredients are all very fresh, both the coffee shop and the restaurant are very attractive. The restaurant is good and reasonably priced no one rushes you which is nice as they do get extremely busy .Good car park.A very nice place to visit.

The house is very interesting. Gardens beautiful. Staff welcoming and knowledgable. The quilting exhibition was lovely, especially as it was spread through the house. The information was excellent beside each quilt and must have inspired people to get out their scraps of material and be creative. I can recommend it. I hope it brings the talents of those in prison... More

Pleasant walk around the gardens. Enjoyed hearing about the history of the Hall from our guide who made our visit worthwhile. The quilting exhibition was excellent.

Beautiful house with lots of exciting things to do! Staff are always welcoming, chatty and knowledgable. The quilt exhibition is fantastic and the children activities are fun and entertaining. Lots of other things to do, the pyramid walk is lovely, as are the shops and cafe. Definately worth a visit.

I visited with a group of friends and enjoyed a fabulous day despite the rain. The house guide - a lady from the North East - was incredibly knowledgeable but also witty and charming in her descriptions of the goings on at the house over the course of many years. It is a very special place and she really brought... More

This is a lovely hall set in peaceful gardens and nice walks around the estate, the hall has the added benefit of a cafe, restaurant and deli shop. The hall is quite interesting and the free audio tour is worthwhile, we felt the hall was in in need of some TLC - no doubt a huge burden and expense for... More

Imposing building but the interior presentation did not live up to expectation, rooms full of quilt displays were a distraction obscuring the rooms, lack of information. Farm shop looked very good.

The restaurant is great and has a nice farm shop. You will also love the gardens and at Christmas has a Christmas Shop.
