Unfortunately the house is only open twice a week, but a lovely lived in atmosphere so worth a planned visit. But without the house the gardens and shops are worth visiting in their own right. A lovely restaurant as well.

Very interesting house and it is fascinating to visit the back rooms full of the every day items of the family just piled high. Being in my seventies I saw many items from my childhood. The shop sells brilliant food including wonderful bread.

My mum and I decided to visit the Hall whilst taking a trip to the Bauble barn, we have always lived in Lincoln yet knew very little about the Hall which my Mum was very interested in. The only negative I would say is that I thought the cost of entry to the Hall was quite steep as it does... More

So many old properties are now hugely Disneyfied. It may get the punters in but sometimes it's nice not to be interactive. The gardens and house are, in the nicest way, a little shabby and this is what makes them. Not everywhere was shiny, pristine and gleamy in their day. The church next door is well worth a visit and... More

Sat in the Bike Shop Café, the coffee machine explodes and showers me with scalding water and coffee granules. Fortunately I was not hurt but my jacket was covered in coffee grain spots. What did the manager do?....not enough in my opinion, flapped about a bit at the staff. No heartfelt apology (If there was I would not be writing... More

We visit regularly for the farm shop or the cafe and once a year for a christmas tree. The meat from the butchers is excellent and always very fresh. There are nice walks around the gardens and grounds so plenty to do to kill a few hours. Well worth a visit.

The farm shop is amazing and there is a café and restaurant. When the house is open it is a good visit as the house has been in the same family since it was built in the 16th Century
