My office is practically next door to the museum located in the historic New Walk and yet until recently I had never visited the museum! What a shame! It is a very entertaining collection that informs and dare I say entertains. Great coffee too from the refreshment area. I'll certainly visit more regularly to just enjoy the vast range of... More

Another free museum. We are so lucky in the UK. Three floors of displays and lots to get involved in. The children there seemed to be loving it and the parents too. The cafe was good and well priced. It provided a rest between floors. So much to see I'm sure I didn't see it all. A really good morning... More

Local friends took us on a walking tour of Midlands cities. Leicester, which we'd only seen as we arrived by bus, turned out to be much nicer than we thought. And this family-friendly museum has interesting exhibits that contextualize local history. But not quite enough; we wanted more breadth and depth than it provides. It's situated on a urban, pedestrian... More

Headed here as part of the Richard the Third tour to see his prayer book. The museum other than this was wonderful. Very well aimed at children it boasts galleries including a wildlife area, Egyptian, dinosaur, Art gallery including old masters and local artists, Picasso ceramics, furniture making and more. Fantastically varied and enjoyable museum
