Fantastic interactive displays for easily distracted or bored kids! A real hands on experience that takes you back in time and feeling like a kid again yourself...a great wet weather trip out for the family!

its an ok museum i suppose but there is not a great deal to see. But i think we are comparing to the london museums so i suppose thats not right, so its an ok museum and you would only need an hour or so to get through it

A good day out with a good variety of historical and educational things to see. Nice cafe' and a good idea to bring in the art gallery (although I feel a large proportion of art selected to be publicly viewed isn't worthy).

the main purpose of my trip to Leicester was to learn more about Richard lll. It was a bonus to be told that his Book of Hours or prayers was on loan from the Archbishop of Canterbury until 28th June. The down side was no photos were to be taken of it or the accompanying signs. However, beggars cannot be... More

This is the main museum in Leicester (dating from 1849) and does of course offer free admission. It's main claim to fame is the Dinosaur exhibtion, but also has an internationally acclaimed exhibition of German Expressionist paintings and Richard Attenborough's collection of Picasso Ceramics. There is a Victorian Art Gallery, the best collection of ancient Eqyptian artifacts (complete with four... More

New Walk has a terrific venue, for coffee or education. Have a coffee with, on occasions, lunchtime music. I've bee to jazz sessions here, most enjoyable, with helpful friendly staff.

This is a lovely museum. There are fossils and minerals, stuffed animals and wonderful dinosaurs. Lots of really good art and my favourite of all was a lighted glass case with Richard 111's book of hors on loan from Lambeth Palace. There is lots of hands on and quizzes for children and indeed there were some school trips when we... More

I've come to here many times throughout my life, and it's always been very good. My favourite exhibit has always been the Ancient Egypt one. It's dark and nicely decorated and I think it has a good vibe to it. It has a nice little store as well.
